A subsequent relocation of Armenians resulted in numerous casualties.<\/h3>\n<h3>Turkey objects to the presentation of these incidents as &#8220;genocide,&#8221; describing them as a tragedy in which both sides suffered casualties.<\/h3>\n<h3>Ankara has repeatedly proposed the creation of a joint commission of historians from Turkey and Armenia as well as international experts to tackle the issue.<\/h3>\n<h3>In 2014, then-Prime Minister Erdo\u011fan expressed condolences to the descendants of Armenians who lost their lives in the events of 1915.<\/h3>\n<h3><em><strong>Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl\u00fct \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu Minutes after Biden&#8217;s Declaration<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3><em><strong>Turkey entirely rejects U.S. President Joe Biden&#8217;s recognition of the 1915 events during the Ottoman Empire period as &#8220;genocide&#8221;.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>&#8220;We have nothing to learn from anybody on our own past.\u00a0Political opportunism\u00a0is the greatest betrayal to peace and justice,&#8221; \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said on Twitter. &#8220;We entirely reject this statement based\u00a0solely on populism.&#8221;<\/h3>\n<h3>&#8220;Words cannot change or\u00a0rewrite history.
