\"\"Rawalpindi; 08 June 2021 – Rear Admiral Subhan Bakirov, Commander of Azerbaijan Naval Forces called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ.<\/h3>\n

During the meeting matters of mutual interest including defence, training, security cooperation between both countries and overall regional security situation were discussed. COAS said that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Azerbaijan and also offered all possible assistance and cooperation in development and defence related fields.<\/h3>\n

COAS also commended thorough professionalism & valour of Azerbaijan Forces. Both sides reaffirmed their determination to work together for enhancing diplomatic \/ security cooperation in various fields.<\/h3>\n

Visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s support to Azerbaijan and its sincere efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan Peace Process.<\/h3>\n

Commander of the Azerbaijani Navy, Rear Admiral Subhan Bekirov, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, met with Commander of Pakistan\u2019s Land Forces, Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Trend reports citing the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.<\/h3>\n

In the course of the meeting, Bajwa congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the victory in the 44-day Second Karabakh War and the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity, wished the souls of martyrs to rest and healing to the wounded.<\/h3>\n

The Pakistani Army general expressed his country’s readiness to take part in the process of de-mining the liberated (from Armenian occupation) territories of Azerbaijan and restoration work to be carried out in these territories.<\/h3>\n

In turn, Bekirov conveyed greetings from Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov to Bajwa.<\/h3>\n

The Azerbaijani Navy commander stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with Pakistan in the military sphere.<\/h3>\n
