Korean blockbuster movie “Little Forest” was premiered in Islamabad at Pakistan National Council of Arts on 09 Sep 2021 by Embassy of Republic of Korea that attracted huge applause from the audience who included people from all walks of life especially women and young girls. The director has made the viewers learn 100 lessons in 100 plus minute social, cultural, ethical, feature film that literally touched the hearts of the viewers.<\/h3>\n

Ambassador H.E Sangpyo Suh welcomes the guest in his inaugural address at the screening. He said that the movie screening is part of cultural exchanges between two countries that is helpful in building people to people relations.<\/h3>\n

Here it is worth mentioning that Republic of Korea has accomplished many joint ventures with Pakistan in the upgrading the infrastructure and other developmental projects in various sectors including agriculture.<\/h3>\n

Little Forest\u00a0 was directed by Yim Soon-rye<\/a> and it was premiered in 2018.\u00a0 <\/sup><\/span>After failing to pass the national qualification exam to become a teacher, Hye-won (Kim Tae-ri<\/a>) abandons her part-time job in Seoul<\/a> to return to the small village where she was raised and where is her mother’s “Little Forest”, the many ways in which a single mother successfully made a home for her much loved child, unfurl with a long succession of lovingly sketched details involving mostly food preparation.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The story revolves around a young girl (Kim Tae Ri)who tried her luck in metropolitan city of Seoul but could not achieve her goals and return to her village in her disappointment. Here she lives alone as her mother is away who raised her and trained her how to face the hardships of life. Her mother also prepared her to cook food from farm to fork.<\/h3>\n

She grows vegetables and cooks different recipes that is no doubt a great attraction for the ladies. Then her childhood friends find her and her solitude is evaporates in the air.<\/h3>\n

She has to choose between city\u00a0 and village life and she comes to the conclusion finally that life can be restarted from anywhere. She selects her village where she has memories of her childhood, where she has friends, where she has relatives to take her care and where her life partner is present that is her old friend as well and where …….. one day her mother will come back.<\/h3>\n

The movie teaches the lessons of facing the failures and never giving in, starting new life, and new life does not need any specific place, recognize your skills and utilize them as the girl on her return to village recalls her mother’s advices and survives on her own. One failure does not mean you can not try again. Friends are assets who fill you with joy and happiness.<\/h3>\n

Another eye catching aspect of the movie is the best picturization of country side of Republic of Korea. The director and his cameraperson have very amicably filmed the scenes from all weathers from winter to summer, autumn to spring. Village culture of Korea is not different than that of Pakistan.<\/h3>\n

Beautiful gifts were presented to the audience at the end of the movie.<\/h3>\n
