The inaugural Summit of the Crimea Platform took place on August 23 in Kyiv in the presence of official delegations of 46 states and international organizations. However, this event is remarkable not only for significant number of participants.<\/strong>In fact, the summit was an unprecedented event in the history of independent Ukraine, both in terms of the number and level of foreign participants as well as its international implications.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

For the first time, Ukraine has consolidated around the issue of the de-occupation of Crimea almost all partners from the Euro-Atlantic region, members of the Group of Seven, as well as all key international organizations in the region, including the EU, NATO, Council of Europe, GUAM. Consequently, the issue of the de-occupation of Crimea has been raised to the highest level of the international agenda.<\/h3>\n

Actually, even though 46 participants is quite a lot to establish a new international format, in order to make it really effective and efficient, it is necessary to involve new countries.<\/h3>\n

At the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded the world of the Crimea Platform initiative and called on all 193 UN member states to join the joint declaration of the Crimea Platform, condemning Russia’s occupation of Crimea and demonstrating that the international community are against the forced change of international borders. The speech of the President of Ukraine, literally, was one of the strongest speeches at this year’s UN General Assembly.<\/h3>\n

The 76th session of the UN General Assembly is seen to be very problematic for the Kremlin because after the success of the Crimea Platform summit, the issue of Russia’s occupation of Crimea will remain on the international stage until being resolved. As a result, the pressure on the aggressor country from the side of the United Nations agencies and bodies will be continued with renewed vigour.<\/h3>\n

Specialists and experts of the Crimea Platform will work closely with UN bodies and relevant committees to provide new facts of Russia’s violations of human rights and freedoms as well as the crimes conducted in the occupied territory of Crimea.<\/h3>\n

Thus, the new international format, initiated by Ukraine, quite predictably caused panic among the Kremlin’s masterminds. The evidence is the unprecedented propaganda campaign aimed at discrediting the Crimea platform.
\nTo do this, Russians use not only traditional propaganda tools, but also hastily founded by Russian special services pseudo-associations like “Friends of Crimea”, \u00abInternational Civil Tribunal\u00bb, \u00abAssembly of Eurasian Peoples\u00bb, \u00abNational Cultural Autonomies\u00bb, \u00abTavrida\u00bb etc.
\nNevertheless, the efforts of the aggressor state are in vain.<\/h3>\n

The countries of civilized world will not not recognize the occupation of the Crimea. These states have a deep interest in reviving the world order, based on the principles of international law, which Russia destroyed in 2014 by occupying Crimea, through the de-occupation of the peninsula.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
