{"id":13052,"date":"2021-12-01T13:50:26","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T13:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/?p=13052"},"modified":"2021-12-01T13:50:26","modified_gmt":"2021-12-01T13:50:26","slug":"skills-programs-are-key-to-providing-economic-opportunities-for-youth-of-pakistan-president-alvi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/skills-programs-are-key-to-providing-economic-opportunities-for-youth-of-pakistan-president-alvi\/","title":{"rendered":"Skills Programs are Key to Providing Economic Opportunities for Youth of Pakistan : President Alvi"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13053\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/president-diplomats.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/president-diplomats.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/president-diplomats-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><em><strong>Islamabad:President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has said that other than Education, skills programs are key to providing economic opportunities for Pakistani youth which will help the country progress.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<h3>In a recent interview with Qaiser Nawab, founder \u201cCOVID-19 Youth Task Force\u201d, President Alvi said that there needs to be more emphasis on providing opportunities to the country\u2019s youth \u2013 which make up about 65 per cent of Pakistan\u2019s population.<\/h3>\n<h3>He pointed to current programs that are being provided to Pakistan\u2019s younger population that provide them with skills training to help them succeed, including the Kamyab Jawan program and the Hunarmand Program.<\/h3>\n<h3>The Kamyab Jawan program alone gave out 20 billion rupees to people aged 20 to 40 last year. This year, he said the government has contributed 100 billion rupees to the program.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cIf there is no skill with a person, he just does raw labor,\u201d said President Alvi. \u201cFrom the raw labour, we want to improve his skills to a certain level where he&#8217;s able to improve his livelihood, and he&#8217;s also able to contribute to the economy of the country.\u201d<\/h3>\n<h3>In his interview with Mr. Nawab, President Alvi also said his government\u2019s goal is to ensure that 100 percent of the population gets admitted to schools \u2013 and, encourage women\u2019s education.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cWe have a lot of programs where we are trying to ensure the fact that there&#8217;s no dropout among the women in Pakistan,\u201d President Alvi said. \u201cIn fact, in medicine, there are 80 per cent women and only 20 per cent male people who have become doctors in the past and will become doctors in the future.\u201d<\/h3>\n<h3>As women start their own families, Dr. Alvi said it\u2019s important to provide them with options \u2013 such as telemedicine if they work in the medical field \u2013 so they can continue contributing to the economy.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong><em>The interview with Mr. Nawab was featured on the Henna Hundal Show.
