The Embassy of Ukraine in Islamabad celebrated Unity Day on 22 Jan 2022 at the new premises. It is a spacious building with latest construction and more conducive to perform the duty and handle the public dealing. Staff of the Embassy, Ukrainian families living in Islamabad and around, civil society representatives and media persons attended the celebration and expressed their best wishes<\/span> for Ukraine, especially in the context of ongoing tensions created by Russian occupation on Ukrainian territory Crimea and deployment of troops and weapons on the borders.<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

This Day is an occasion to remind that despite the temporary occupied Crimea and territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Ukrainians are United and Stand Strong to take occupied lands back.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Mr. and Mrs Markiian Chuchuk, Ambassador of Ukraine welcomed the guests warmly who managed to reach in a very cold weather while it was raining as well.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Pakistani media had QnA with the Ambassador at this occasion. Ambassador said to different questions that :<\/span><\/h4>\n

“Ukraine is on board with respect to USA-Russia negotiations. It is about peace and democracy and all western democratic countries are with Ukraine for that. We have hopes for diplomatic solution and at the same time we will protect our lands, independence and freedom.”<\/span><\/h4>\n

To a question from Editor Tazeen Akhtar about any country around Ukraine is supporting Russia against Ukraine? Ambassador replied that may be Belarus supports tensions for Ukraine.<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Ambassador broke a good news that the visa regime will be made easy for Pakistani visitors and tourists gradually. He said that we welcome our Pakistani brothers sisters to visit our country. Both countries enjoy very close and cordial relations. Bilateral cooperation is increasing in different spheres.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The staff members of the Embassy sang anthem ATO. Among them were two participants of the Operation United Forces in eastern Ukraine, Colonel Sergey Dolenko and Major Gennady Chayka. With such defenders, people are not afraid of anything! Glory to Ukraine.<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

It is worth mentioning here that, in last two weeks, NATO and all the members have expressed solidarity with Ukraine and urged upon Russia to refrain from any misadventure against Ukraine. A dialogue was held only a day earlier than the Unity Day between USA-Russian foreign ministers in which Russian FM said that we have never threatened Ukraine.
