Islamabad – Umar Masood ur Rehman, Vice President Federation of<\/strong><\/em>\nPakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, visited the Embassy of Portugal<\/strong><\/em>
\nin Islamabad and met H.E Paulo Neves Pocinho Portugal’s Ambassador to<\/strong><\/em>
\nPakistan. Both discussed the matters of mutual interest and talk over<\/strong><\/em>
\nregarding wide-ranging trade, industry and commercial avenues of<\/strong><\/em>
\ncooperation, investments and joint ventures.<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n
H.E Paulo Neves Pocinho said to Mr. Umar Masood ur Rehman to Organize a
\nWebinar Between the Portuguese and Pakistan Businessmen in October or
\nNovember 2022, in which presentations on the Portugal and Pakistan
\nCulture and Trade will be given to get to know each other.<\/h5>\nAmbassador shared that Portugal wants to enhance bilateral
\ntrade with Pakistan in view of the high potential between the two
\ncountries. Portugal and Pakistan should develop close cooperation with
\nit to get better market access to European and African regions. He said
\nthat both countries have room to strengthen bilateral collaboration for
\nmutual benefit. He emphasized the need ofExchange of Trade delegations
\nbetween both the countries.<\/h5>\nHe said Portugal has PTAs with many countries and by investing in
\nPortugal; Pakistani investors can promote exports to Europe, Africa,
\nCanada and other regions. Portugal can serve as a gateway to Europe for
\nPakistan. FPCCI should form a delegation for Portugal to
\nexplore new business opportunities. He offered to expedite the visa
\nprocessing for the business, industry, and trade community\u2019s
\nrepresentatives of Pakistan to create an enabling environment for them
\nto forge business-to-business and people-to-people relationships.<\/h5>\nUmar Masood ur Rehman, Vice President FPCCI said that Pakistan wishes to
\nincrease trade ties with Portugal as both countries have the potential
\nto improve bilateral trade in different sectors. The trade potential
\nbetween the countries far exceeds the current trade volume and both
\ncountries need to work on realizing that potential. He said that
\nPakistan is producing quality products at affordable costs and
\nhighlighted that Portugal can get benefit of this situation. Trade
\nvolume between Pakistan and Portugal is not encouraging and it is
\nessential that both countries should promote strong connectivity between
\nprivate sectors to identify untapped sectors of mutual cooperation. He
\nalso stated that Portugal should enhance the import of Pakistani
\nproducts including textiles, garments, surgical instruments, sports
\ngoods, leather products, fruits & vegetables and other required products
