Zaildar House of Taxila hosted the 10th Orange Festival on 26 Feb 2023 in continuation with their tradition of celebration every year in the month of February. Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani was the chief guest. Federal Minister Overseas Pakistanis Sardar Salim Haidar was also present. Chairman brought 4 senators from Balochistan and KPK with him. They accompanied the Chairman to see the festival and arrange cultural events of same nature in their provinces as well to promote real images of Pakistan.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n
Zaildar Ahsan Shah and Zaildar Zaheer Shah are hosting the festival for last 10 years continuously to facilitate the foreign community for visit to the ancient city of Gandhara and Buddhist civilizations. The oldest university of the world was in Taxila. It means the city is not only the center of thousands years old civilization but it was center of education as well.<\/h5>\n
Zaildar Ahsan Shah also holds the office of the President of Pak Romania Friendship Association. The members of this org were also invited.<\/h5>\n
Dean of Diplomatic Corp, Ambassador Turkmenistan Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Romania Nicolae Goia, Ambassador Bulgaria Ms Irena Gancheva, Ambassador of Iran Mohammed Ali Hosseini, Ambassador Iraq Hamid Abbas Lafta, Ambassador Vietnam Nguyen Tien Phong , Ambassador Philippines Ms Maria Agnes M. Cervantes, Diplomats from many countries visited the festival with their families in a safe and friendly environment.<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n
Zaildar Ahsan Shah, in his welcome address, said “The rich cultural heritage, work of master craftsmen and black stone carvers, the world famous Khanpuri orange and exploration to footprints of Buddha at over two dozen sacred sites of Gandhara civilization.<\/h5>\n
“There are over 30 sacred historical sites located in the area and efforts are being made to declare Taxila as \u2018World Heritage City\u201d. He said that the orange festival provides a window to the diverse cultural heritage and showcase the real Pakistan to the world community” Ahsan Shah noted.<\/h5>\n
Dean of Diplomatic Corp, Ambassador Turkmenistan Atadjan Movlamov said, ” Pakistan is the home of ancient civilizations and cultures that are not only the heritage assets but are the best attractions for the foreign tourists as well.<\/h5>\n
The Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy in promoting Pakistan\u2019s historic and cultural heritage at the international level. He assured and pledged to work on declaring Taxila as ” World Heritage City”.<\/h5>\n
Chairman expressed his pleasure in seeing the enthusiastic members of the foreign diplomats corps, along with their families, and thanked Mr. Zaildar Shah for his warm welcome and hospitality.\"\"<\/h5>\n
He also congratulated the PRCCSF, the Office of the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, and the Office of the Dean of COSA, for collaborating and making the event a huge success.<\/h5>\n
Sadiq Sanjrani further emphasized the significance of the festival in showcasing the culture of Pakistan and Taxila in particular. He described Taxila as the hub of ancient civilizations and expressed his excitement to witness the exemplary display of the local culture, including the horse dancing, traditional Stone Lifting, folk music, and exhibition of the Gandhara art.<\/h5>\n
Sadiq Sanjrani concluded his speech by encouraging the foreign diplomats and their families to enjoy the festival and witness the rich culture and celebration of traditions for good memories.<\/h5>\n
Chairman Senate talking to media persons, said that tourism potential of Pakistan had not been explored properly and it was high time to develop infrastructure to places of historical and cultural importance to fetch foreign tourists especially from Buddhist countries.<\/h5>\n
He said Taxila valley and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Swat, were blessed with sacred places of Buddhists and the government would provide resources to promote religious tourism and in this connection the private sector and community should join its hands to formulate strategy.<\/h5>\n
