During the bilateral talks in the extended format with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on Monday, the Kazakh leader commended the growing level of trade and economic cooperation between the two states.<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n
\u00abThe trade turnover has recently increased by 40 per cent, reaching $500 million,\u00bb said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the talks in the Akorda presidential residence, adding that the establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council will without doubt give a new momentum to bilateral relations between Baku an Astana.<\/h5>\n
The Head of State expressed confidence that as the countries tap into their economic potential they will be able to step up the two-way trade up to $1 billion having in place serious reserves in such spheres as energy, transport, logistics, IT, agriculture, industry and more.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n
Azerbaijan is of paramount importance for Kazakhstan as its strategic partner, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said Monday, Kazinform correspondent reports.<\/h5>\n
During the meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in the Kazakh capital, President Tokayev emphasized Azerbaijan is not only a reliable and important partner for Kazakhstan but also a fraternal state.<\/h5>\n
\u00abBased on the unshakable ties of centuries-long friendship, we have built an effective interstate cooperation that is developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. Our countries enjoy active, trust-based political dialogue,\u00bb Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the bilateral talks in the extended format with the President of Azerbaijan.<\/h5>\n
According to the Head of State, the two nations cooperate at the level of governments as well as in the framework of multilateral platforms.<\/h5>\n
He went on to remind last year Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan had signed the declaration on strengthening and deepening the bilateral cooperation as well as the comprehensive cooperation development program for 2026. The Kazakh leader announced more documents are to be inked during Ilham Aliyev\u2019s visit to Astana today.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n
