Islamabad: Monitoring Desk – The media reports from around the European countries and from withing the destructed and damaged Ukraine by Russian invasions are blaming Putin that he wants to push West to negotiations in effort to buy time for another round of war. On the other side, Russian press reports claim the Kremlin is sincere in the solution of the crisis only. West is not ready to trust the Russian assurances.<\/strong> <\/em><\/h5>\n
The general opinion in the West is “Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine ushered in an era of territorial grabs by the Kremlin.This process can only be stopped by the collective efforts of the Western coalition, which is Putin’s ultimate target. Russia employs a wide range of challenges and threats to undermine the economic and military capabilities of European nations that share the continent with Russia, and therefore serve as an object of the Kremlin’s geopolitical interest.”<\/h5>\n
Putin is trying to mislead the Western community by emphasizing his willingness to negotiate, while at the same time forming an anti-Western coalition that has emerged in its perfected form almost for the first time since the end of the Cold War. Russia has made the final choice in favor of autocracy and totalitarianism: its dialogue with Iran and North Korea proves the aggressive anti-Western course pursued the Kremlin, which can bring humanity the most devastating troubles if Putin is not stopped by collective efforts.<\/h5>\n
Putin’s intermediate goal as part of his large-scale aggression, which he unleashed on February 24, 2022, is to destroy Ukrainian statehood and physically eliminate those Ukrainians who will not voluntarily agree to be enslaved by the Kremlin. Russia is accumulating all possible resources to continue hostilities \u2013 their epicenter is now in Bakhmut, while among other targets are also the towns of Avdiiivka and Maryinka in Donetsk region. By capturing them, the Russians would be able to align the front and attempt a second large-scale offensive. Putin is critically short of combat-capable forces and necessary weapons \u2013 to this end, the Kremlin, through its official spokesmen, spins narratives about Russia\u2019s readiness for negotiations with Ukraine and the West regarding a peaceful settlement.<\/strong> <\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n
This is a deceptive move by Putin, designed to create a tactical pause in preparation for a major war, which, in the perception of the Kremlin dictator, is inevitable. The system that was formed in Russia as a result of the Putin\u2019s actual 23-year rule can exist only if a threat of some external enemy is maintained for the population: Ukraine and the West have become such. All available resources in Russia \u2013 be they economic, political, or demographic \u2013 are used for achieving one goal \u2013 preparation for the next round of war, which should be a kind of conclusion of Putin’s rule and lead to the fall of Western civilization as we know it.<\/h5>\n
Russia is using multifaceted political influence to facilitate preparations for this war. Russian propaganda keeps circulating for western audiences the narratives about the futility of further support for Ukraine, the inability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even with strong western support, to liberate the entire territory occupied by Russia, hence appeals for the need for talks and a further settlement.<\/h5>\n
In fact, Putin does not want peace: for the first time since the end of the Cold War, Russia has managed to revive the bloc confrontation and is actively forming an anti-Western coalition, which will include countries from all continents except Australia and North America. Russian diplomacy started a real war for the countries of Africa and the Arab world, as well as for splitting Europe, depriving it of a consensus on Ukraine support.<\/h5>\n
Putin understands that the existing economic and military potential of Western nations exceeds Russia’s so he is trying to strengthen his forces through sealing an alliance with other geopolitical actors, Asian despots such as Iran and the DPRK, which, in the event of a resumption of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, will provide the Kremlin with all the assistance required.<\/h5>\n
The above shows that the world has reached a “bifurcation point”: the future world order and the survival of the civilized West in its current form depend on the outcome of hostilities on the Ukrainian front. If Putin gets his revenge in Ukraine, his army will continue to march into Europe, leaving behind trails of blood.<\/h5>\n
“The outcome of such an invasion Putin sees the complete subordination of the CEE countries to Russia, while the countries of “old Europe” in his view should fall into complete vassal dependence on the Russo-Chinese alliance. Europe must restore its historical dignity and realize that its salvation depends solely on Ukraine’s victory over the occupier who invaded its territory, the media reports conclude.
