{"id":20490,"date":"2023-05-16T08:34:53","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T08:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/?p=20490"},"modified":"2023-05-16T08:34:53","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T08:34:53","slug":"government-of-pakistan-signs-agreement-with-the-republic-of-korea-under-the-g-20-debt-service-suspension-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/government-of-pakistan-signs-agreement-with-the-republic-of-korea-under-the-g-20-debt-service-suspension-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA UNDER THE G-20 DEBT SERVICE SUSPENSION INITIATIVE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5 class=\"photo_h2\"><\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"photo_p\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20491\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Korea-Pakistan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"345\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Korea-Pakistan.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Korea-Pakistan-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Korea-Pakistan-100x70.jpg 100w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Korea-Pakistan-218x150.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><em>ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan, on 15th May 2023, signed a Debt Service Suspension Agreement with the Republic of Korea amounting to deferment of payment of loans worth USD 19.911 million, under the G-20 Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) framework.<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"photo_p\">This amount, initially had to be repaid between July and December 2021, will now be repaid over a period of six years (including one-year grace period) in semi-annual installments.<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"photo_p\">Due to the support extended by the development partners of Pakistan, the G-20 DSSI has provided the fiscal space which was necessary to deal with urgent health and economic needs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"photo_p\">The total amount of debt, that is to be suspended under the DSSI framework, covering the period of repayment from May 2020 to December 2021, stands at USD 3,686 million.<\/h5>\n<h5 class=\"photo_p\">Pakistan has already concluded and signed 104 agreements with 21 bilateral creditors for the deferment of its debt repayments under the G-20 DSSI, amounting to USD 3,633 million.
