\"\"Kerman\/ Iran : Monitoring Desk – Two separate explosions left 103 people killed and 141 injured in the Iranian city of Kerman on 03 Jan Wednesday. <\/strong><\/span>The first blast took place 700 meters away from Martyr General Qassem Soleimani\u2019s tomb and the second explosion happened one kilometer away from it.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n
Numerous people were taking part in the fourth martyrdom anniversary of General Soleimani in his city of Kerman when the blasts occurred.The explosions dispersed mourners from Kerman\u2019s cemetery and ambulances rushed to deliver the injured to hospitals in the city.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Reza Fallah, head of the Kerman province Red Crescent, told IRNA that some 141 injured people have been delivered to hospitals so far.Fallah also said that a loud explosion was heard, and officials are examining the cause of the blast.<\/span><\/h5>\n
A security official in Kerman also confirmed the explosion, noting that it is not yet clear whether the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder or a terrorist attack.<\/span><\/h5>\n
The Iranian administration announced Thursday, the day of national mourning, while Kerman province declared three days of mourning.<\/strong><\/h5>\n
The Commission of National-Security and Foreign-Policy of Iran\u2019s parliament plans to dispatch a delegation to Kerman to inspect different aspects of the terrorist act.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Abolfazl Amouei, spokesman for the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, underlined that the attack indicated Martyr General Qassem Soleimani\u2019s fight against terrorism was the right path, which will be continued strongly.<\/span><\/h5>\n

A police spokesperson also declared that three police officers were martyred while they were trying to assist people who were targetted in Kerman explosions. Some other news sources reported on social media that four police officers were martyred in this terrorist incident.\"\"<\/span><\/h5>\n
Condemnations have been pouring in following the Wednesday terrorist attack in Iran\u2019s southeastern city of Kerman where dozens of people lost their lives.

UN Secretary General<\/strong> Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the attack that took place as people were marking the fourth anniversary of the US assassination of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Guterres called for those responsible to be held accountable for the attack and expressed his condolences to the Iranian people and government.<\/span><\/h5>\n
\u201cThe Secretary-General expresses his deep condolences to the bereaved families and the people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He wishes the injured a speedy recovery\u201d, United Nations Associate Spokesperson Florencia Soto Nino said, according to a press release by the UN.\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n
EU Foreign Policy Chief<\/strong> Josep Borrell also strongly condemned the Kerman attack, and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims as well as the Iranian people and government.<\/span><\/h5>\n
He spoke on the phone with Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian who highlighted the need to fight all forms of terrorism by the international community.\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n
The European Union issued a separate statement, also strongly denouncing the attack and expressing solidarity with the people of Iran. It said that the perpetrators of this terrorist attack should be held accountable.<\/span><\/h5>\n
Ireland\u2019s<\/strong> Foreign Minister Miche\u00e1l Martin condemned the \u201creprehensible and indiscriminate attack\u201d. \u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n
\u201cI strongly condemn the bombing in Iran today, a reprehensible and indiscriminate attack. Terrorism and violence is never justified. I extend my condolences to those who lost loved ones and to the people of Iran,\u201d he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.<\/span><\/h5>\n
The Persian Gulf countries of Qatar<\/strong> and Oman strongly denounced the attack as well, extending their condolences to the people and government of Iran.<\/h5>\n
Oman<\/strong> reiterated its stance of denouncing any kind of violence and terrorism, while Qatar expressed its opposition to violence, terrorism, and criminal acts regardless of the motives behind them.<\/h5>\n
Also in the region, Iraq\u2019s Government<\/strong> Spokesman Basim Alawadi slammed the attack and expressed his country\u2019s solidarity with the Iranian people and government. He said that Iraq is ready to offer assistance to Iran.<\/h5>\n

Top Pakistani<\/strong> officials issued separate messages, with the country\u2019s prime minister, foreign minister as well as parliament speaker condemning the \u201cheinous\u201d attack. Pakistan\u2019s ambassador to Tehran echoed the same comments as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates- state of Palestine<\/strong> condemns the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in Iran. The Ministry expresses its deepest condolences to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the families of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured and the wounded.<\/span><\/h5>\n
To Latin America, Venezuelan<\/strong> Foreign Minister Yvan Gil shared a post on X, condemning \u201cin the strongest terms the terrorist attack that occurred in the city of Kerman.\u201d He called for the punishment of the perpetrators.<\/h5>\n
