Islamabad; Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Wednesday said Pakistan was a peace-loving country desirous of peaceful coexistence with all its neighboring\u00a0countries on 06 March 2019.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Speaking at a reception he hosted in honour of ambassadors of various friendly countries here at Lok Virsa, the minister said Pakistan had always shown maturity and acted as a responsible and tolerant state.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The government and the Armed Forces of Pakistan, he said, had only acted to defend the national sovereignty in the face of Indian aggression. The entire world had fully realized which state was peace-loving and which was indulging in war-mongering, he added.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fawad said the credit for decrease in tensions in the Sub-continent went to Prime Minister Imran Khan and the military leadership of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He said Pakistan being a beautiful country was an attractive destination for tourists from around the world. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was striving to preserve the dying music instruments in the country, he added.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The minister shed light on the PTI government\u2019s initiatives to promote national culture and preserve historical heritage of the country.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Speaking on the occasion, Lok Virsa Executive Director Shahira Shahid said the Lok Virsa was making efforts to preserve the endangered arts and musical instruments. It had had been organizing training classes for the people interested in various arts but there was need for long term training arrangements so that the\u00a0 people could adopt them as profession in future, she added.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A documentary about the dying musical instruments was also displayed on the occasion, while artists gave live performances on endangered musical instruments, including Suraz, Sarinda, Alghoza and Sarangi.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A number of Islamabad-based envoys, including EU Ambassador Jean-Francois Cautain , Ambassador of Italy Stefano Pontecorvo, Ambassador of Romania Nicolae Goia, Dutch Ambassador Ms Ardi Stoios-Braken, Polish Ambassador Piotr Opaliniski, German Ambassador Martin Kobler, Deputy Head of Mission of Spain Fernando Giron Pascual, French Ambassador Marc Barety, Acting Head of Portugal Mission\u00a0Maria Manuela Caetano, Hungarian\u00a0Charge\u2019 d Affaires Tivadar Takacs, Denmark Ambassador Rolf Holmboe and Canadian Ambassador Perry John Calderwood\u00a0 attended the reception.<\/p>\n
