JICA thematic focus in disaster management sector is mainly focus on establishment of administrative system of disaster related organizations and proceed of hazard exposure reduction to mitigate disaster risk.Developed National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP), which is for any disasters, mainly focused on flood.<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<p>Mr. Tsuyoshi Hara, Senior Representative enlightened Pakistani media in a specially convened briefing about the efforts JICA is doing to mitigate the effects of the disasters in Pakistan that is among 10 first countries that are the most affected in the world with climate change. The members of his team, Mr. Abrar Khan and Mr Koki Sawa also shed light on the projects of JICA in this regard. The briefing was held at local hotel in Islamabad and attended by a large number of media persons.<\/p>\n<h5>As a counter measure to flood, JICA is supporting to both structural and non-structural measures to mitigate flood risk. Through their support for both structural and non-structural measures to mitigate flood risk, JICA demonstrates a holistic approach to disaster resilience.<\/p>\n<p>This long-term investment in disaster management reflects an understanding of the profound impact such measures can have on the safety and well-being of communities. JICA&#8217;s efforts undoubtedly contribute to building more resilient societies, safeguarding lives, and promoting sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the Sendai Framework, which was agreed in the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in 2015, JICA have been supporting for Government of Pakistan in meteorological radar networks, logistical support for emergencies, flood mitigation, flood forecasting warning system, earthquake recovery for relief, recovery items, resilient school building and infrastructure. 4 damaged bridges &amp; 1 culvert, 1 seismic resistant and barrier-free basic health unit constructed, supply of relief items etc. JICA provided loan and grant assistance to Government of Pakistan of US$170million in emergency, reconstruction, and rehabilitation activities.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>In Flood 2022, JICA supplied relief items as emergency support and distributed through NDMA for flood affected families of Baluchistan.
