Taking part in\u00a0the\u00a0meeting on\u00a0the\u00a0Russian side were Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister and\u00a0Co-Chair of\u00a0the\u00a0Intergovernmental Commission on\u00a0Economic Cooperation between the\u00a0Russian Federation and\u00a0the\u00a0Republic of\u00a0Azerbaijan Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Chief of\u00a0Staff of\u00a0the\u00a0Presidential Executive Office and\u00a0Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, and\u00a0Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev.\"\"<\/h5>\n
President of Russia Vladimir Putin <\/b>welcomed President Ilham\u00a0 to Moscow and to hold the meeting, as both agreed during President Putin’s visit to Baku. Both leaders \u00a0held a restricted format discussion, and also talked informally last night, raising various issues related to the current status of bilateral relations.<\/h5>\n
President Putin\u00a0 noted, from the start that bilateral relationship is developing in a positive way, as both leaders noted during the official visit to Azerbaijan. Trade between two countries now amounts to $4.3 billion, while Russia’s direct investment in the Azerbaijani economy exceeds $4 billion. There are numerous interesting projects in both energy and infrastructure, all of which are promising, dynamic, and viable, including bilateral and multilateral initiatives.<\/h5>\n
