He paid homage to Polish Pilots Engineers who contributed a lot in the raising of Pakistan Air Force in the early days of the newly born state from United India.<\/h5>\n<h5>The guests stood in respect of <strong>three anthems<\/strong> in this reception.\u00a0 In addition to the Polish and Pakistani anthems, a exert from Beethoven&#8217;s &#8216;Ode to Joy&#8217; was also played, which is the European Union\u2019s anthem. Ambassador noted in this regard, &#8220;Since <strong>Poland<\/strong> is going to assume the <strong>Presidency in the European Union<\/strong> from January 1st, 2025, it gives us a special reason to highlight Europe\u2019s unity during our national celebration.&#8221; Ambassadors of European Union were present in large number at this occasion.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37284 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Nazir-Sabir-Sirbaz-e1731574984283.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"257\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5><em><strong>Ambassador recognized Mr. Nazir Sabir<\/strong><\/em>, a native of Hunza, renowned mountaineer, who became first Pakistani to have climbed Mount Everest in addition to great summits of Pakistan. Mr. Nazir Sabir cooperated with many Polish expeditions and is a honorary member of the Polish Mountaineering Club. He also welcomed\u00a0<em><strong> Mr. Sirbaz Khan<\/strong><\/em>, the first Pakistani who summited all 14 eight-thousender peaks in the world. Ambassador rightly noted that the passion for mountains is a commonality between the two countries and our friendship has emerged from this passion.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37283\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Sebastian-Kawa-e1731574666579.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5><em><strong>An exhibition of the rare photos of the expeditions of the Polish mountaineers<\/strong> <\/em>was also arranged at the sidelines of the reception. Northern areas have kept fascinating many Polish explores and mountaineers. They imprinted a lasting mark on Polish imagination, sports and culture. Ambassador commented that we grew up in Poland learning about achievements of our climbers.<\/h5>\n<h5>For example, <strong>Wanda Rutkiewicz<\/strong> was the first women who claimed K2.<strong> Jerzy Kukuczka<\/strong> was only the second climber in the world who scaled all eight-thousanders, including magnificent Pakistani summits. And this year, a team of Polish gliders \u2013 led by world champion <strong>Sebastian Kawa \u2013 was first to fly over K2<\/strong> and surrounding mountains. The guests were glad to see incredible footage taken during these flights.<\/h5>\n<h5>&#8220;This Polish passion for mountains, for the Pakistani mountains, created an enduring nexus between Polish and Pakistani people. Polish climbers could not have achieved their successes without wisdom, experience and help of their Pakistani friends, Ambassador said.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37282\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Poland_Pakistan.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Poland_Pakistan.png 500w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Poland_Pakistan-300x118.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/h5>\n<h5>Spiritual music played by talented <em><strong>women musicians from Hunza led by Ms. Meher Angez Hunzai<\/strong> <\/em>was a new attraction for the guests as they had never know and listened them earlier. Ambassador shared, &#8221; The music of these ladies is like mountains speak to us in a universal and deeply humanistic way. Both invoke mystery, spirituality and freedom. Allow us to transcend our physical boundaries and remind that after all we are one and the same human kind.&#8221;<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>Ambassador <\/strong><strong><em>Maciej Pisarski, <\/em><\/strong><strong>in his welcome address touched a number of topics including regional and international issues as well as bilateral relations.<\/strong> He said , &#8220;In Poland\u2019s history, independence and freedom have always been defined by their precarious nature: never given nor to be taken for granted. They had to be fought for and defended. Today is no different (Russia Ukraine).&#8221;<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Ukraine Russia<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5><em><strong>The Russian aggression against Ukraine has awakened old demons, who can only be contained by Ukraine\u2019s victory.<\/strong> <\/em>The aggressor must be repelled not rewarded. This is key to a just and lasting peace not only in Europe but also in other corners of the world. For that to happen, we will continue to stand with Ukraine and help the Ukrainian people to defend themselves.&#8221; Ambassador of Ukraine was also present.<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>GAZA and Lebanon<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>&#8220;We will continue to urge for full protection of the civilian population in <strong>Gaza and Lebanon<\/strong> and full application of the humanitarian law in that conflict. Poland sent humanitarian aid to those affected. <strong>Tragically, one of Polish aid workers was killed while delivering assistance to the Palestinians.<\/strong> Moreover, a just and lasting peace in Middle East can only be ensured when the Palestinian people realize their right to live in their own state, side by side with Israel. Such also is a lesson from the history of my country, H.E <strong><em>Maciej Pisarski <\/em><\/strong>stressed. He said both countries continue to work for the development of our bilateral relation. The trade between our countries gradually approaches 1 billion USD. Pakistan benefits from the trade preferences under the GSP plus scheme, which makes the single European market its greatest export destination.<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Polish Investments in Oil and Gas<\/strong> H.E Maciej Pisarski said, Polish investors in the gas sector have proven to be successful and resilient. Orlen-Polish Oil and Gas Company carries on gas exploration projects in Sindh and Exalo Drilling \u2013 which is also our sponsor today \u2013 provides valuable services for the Pakistani industry.<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>Growth potential in trade and investment<\/strong> means very little, if we are not able to tap into it. That is why our Embassy organized a first in many years trade mission to Pakistan this year. Under the program GreenEvo, we brought in a number of young and promising entrepreneurs, who promoted green and smart technological solutions to the challenges resulting from the climate change. Ambassador happily noted that some conversations which began during this mission are continued.<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>UN Security Council : <\/strong>Ambassador congratulated Pakistan for assuming a membership in the Security Council. Only few years ago, when Poland sat on the Security Council, we developed a very productive cooperation with Pakistan. For example, our both countries worked closely to establish the <em><strong>International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief.<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<h5>&#8220;We look forward to working with Pakistan to strengthen the international order enshrined in the UN Charter. In today\u2019s fraught international environment, we need reconfirmation of universal norms such as respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, right of the nations for self-determination and the respect of human rights as cornerstones of our common future.&#8221;<\/h5>\n<h5><strong>Polish &#8211; Pakistani relations are 62 years old, but our common history is much older.<\/strong> This year marks 100 anniversary of publishing a book by a Polish explorer, Bronis\u0142aw Gr\u0105bczewski, titled \u201c Through the Pamirs and Hindo Kush to the sources of Indus\u201d. This account tells a story of his 1888 expedition to Baltit, which is the first documented passage from Central Asia to Hunza, that time to India, and today to Pakistan.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-37285\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Polish_Pilots-e1731575188527.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"261\" \/><\/h5>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Polish in Pakistan Air Force<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h5>These recent achievements followed into footsteps of Polish pilots, who contributed to the creation of the Pakistani Air Forces shortly after Pakistan was born. Interestingly, the wife of the leader of that group \u2013 <strong>Air Commodore W\u0142adys\u0142aw Turowicz &#8211; Zofia Turowicz<\/strong> was a glider instructor herself and trained future Pakistani pilots.<\/h5>\n<h5>Ambassador said, &#8220;These extraordinary people were not only Polish but Pakistani heroes and deserve to be remembered and recognized as such . Therefore, we continue to hope that a final decision about<strong><em> giving<\/em> one of the streets in Islamabad their name will be taken soon<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Federal Minister Salik Hussain<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>Chaudhry Salik Hussain, in his address, extended heartfelt congratulations and solidarity with Poland from gov and people of Pakistan. He said that the <strong>Polish pilots<\/strong> who supported Pakistan to build air force are our countrymen and we own them as our <strong>Pakistani citizens.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>He said, &#8221; Poland\u2019s journey to independence is a testament to the invincible spirit of the people of Poland. He also commended the \u2018great men and women\u2019 of the armed forces of Poland whose sacrifices earned Poland freedom and sovereignty.<\/h5>\n<h5>Minister said, Pakistan deeply valued historically warm and friendly relations with Poland. From the outset, these bilateral relations have been based on mutual respect and goodwill. One of the hallmarks of Poland-Pakistan bilateral relations is the invaluable role played by the courageous Polish pilots in laying the foundation of the Pakistan Air Force.<\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0We share a rich history of diplomatic relations founded on mutual trust, cooperation and a commitment to global peace and development.<\/h5>\n<h5>Both countries remain actively engaged in strengthening the bilateral relations across multiple sectors, he said adding it was imperative to move forward in economic and commercial domain by creating B2B linkages and enhancing P2P contacts.<\/h5>\n<h5>Minister appreciated the role of Polish companies in oil and gas sector of Pakistan. He sought cooperation in renewable energy, power generation, agriculture sectors as well.<\/h5>\n<h5>Minister as incharg of overseas Pakistanis and human resource highlighted the importance of Pakistani youth work force for Poland. He said, &#8221; Our work force can complement the requirements of Poland for human resource.&#8221;<\/h5>\n<h5><em><strong>Minister is quite right but this is the most\u00a0 disturbing area for Pakistani workers when it is about EU countries. A large number of Pakistanis can not get appointments only, let alone the visas. This is not about the new workers only but the same is the situation with the students, family reunion, and other genuine cases as well.
