Bishkek-The Prime Minister Imran Khan\u00a0 had a cordial meeting with the Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Sharipovich Jeenbekov on the sidelines of the SCO summit, a statement released by the Prime Minister Office said.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Radio Pakistan<\/a><\/em>, Kyrgyz President Jeenbekov had extended the invitation to Prime Minister Imran to attend the two-day summit.<\/p>\n

The prime minister congratulated the Kyrgyz president on hosting the summit, who in turn “appreciated Pakistan’s role in the SCO”, the statement added.<\/p>\n

The two countries agreed to strengthen land and air connectivity between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n

“The two leaders also reviewed bilateral relations and agreed to comprehensively upgrade mutual cooperation in diverse fields,” according to the statement.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, both leaders also agreed to a “joint ministerial commission and bilateral political consultations soon”.<\/p>\n

It was also decided that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan must enhance people-to-people contact and boost tourism through visa-friendly regimes.<\/p>\n

PM Imran extended an invitation to the Kyrgyz President to visit Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Earlier upon his arrival, Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev and health minister Kosmosbek Sarievich Cholponbaev received the premier, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) shared on social media.<\/p>\n

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday said that Pakistan would import 1000 megawatt electricity from Kyrgyzstan by 2021 to overcome power shortage in summer season.<\/p>\n

Talking to media here, Foreign Minister said during the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan talks with the Kyrgyz President were also held on early completion of the CASA-1000 project, which would start from Kyrgyzstan and reach Afghanistan through Tajikistan and onward to Pakistan.<\/p>\n

He said during the two-day visit, Pakistan signed three agreements to promote education, health and cultural activities among the member states during meetings of head of states.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
