While OIC nations collectively account for nearly two-thirds of the world\u2019s landmass and 50% of the global population, they possess only 14.5% of the world\u2019s freshwater resources, making sustainable water management an urgent priority.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop emphasized the importance of scientific advancements, policy frameworks, and cutting-edge technologies\u2014such as reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, and ultrafiltration\u2014in addressing these challenges.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"wvPhkMOZtW\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/huawei-and-comsats-university-islamabad-sign-mou-to-develop-technical-vocational-training-labs\/\">Huawei and COMSATS University Islamabad Sign MoU to Develop Technical Vocational Training Labs<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Huawei and COMSATS University Islamabad Sign MoU to Develop Technical Vocational Training Labs&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/huawei-and-comsats-university-islamabad-sign-mou-to-develop-technical-vocational-training-labs\/embed\/#?secret=VCIZT2hrPA#?secret=wvPhkMOZtW\" data-secret=\"wvPhkMOZtW\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General COMSTECH, reaffirmed OIC-COMSTECH\u2019s strong commitment to promoting water sustainability through research, capacity building, and policy-driven initiatives. He emphasized that water scarcity is not just an environmental issue but is deeply linked to food security, energy sustainability, urbanization, and public health.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Choudhary highlighted the role of nanotechnology, sensor-based monitoring, and GPS data analysis in enhancing water management efficiency. He called for greater collaboration among OIC nations, stressing that science and technology can provide practical solutions to many of the pressing water challenges faced by member states.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"3a5HcZt1zN\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/29th-anniversary-celebration-of-the-commission-on-science-and-technology-for-sustainable-development-in-the-south-comsats\/\">29th-anniversary celebration of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS)<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;29th-anniversary celebration of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS)&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/29th-anniversary-celebration-of-the-commission-on-science-and-technology-for-sustainable-development-in-the-south-comsats\/embed\/#?secret=LK53xqkFzV#?secret=3a5HcZt1zN\" data-secret=\"3a5HcZt1zN\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hifza Rasheed Director General (WQ) Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources, (PCRWR), in her remarks, emphasized the importance of capacity building and knowledge-sharing among OIC countries, ensuring that nations collectively develop sustainable water solutions that will benefit future generations.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop facilitated knowledge exchange among leading experts and policymakers, fostering discussions on scientific innovations, institutional linkages, and regional cooperation to improve access to clean and reliable water sources.<\/p>\n<p>COMSTECH remains dedicated to supporting joint research initiatives, policy development, and innovative solutions to bridge the gap between water demand and availability.
