The session was attended by the Secretaries from relevant ministries, CEO of the Public-Private Partnership Authority (P3A) and other key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The primary agenda of the meeting was to review critical issues impeding the operationalization of Gwadar Port, finalize an actionable strategy for its activation, and ensure effective implementation of the plan once approved by the Cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the meeting, Planning Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to making Gwadar a regional trade hub. Rapid urbanization, development of IT parks, free zones, and high-rise buildings, and improved infrastructure are essential for Gwadar\u2019s transformation into a modern port city,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Prof. Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the strategic importance of Central Asian Republics (CARs) in Gwadar\u2019s operationalization.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He directed the relevant ministries to position Gwadar as a competitive trade and transshipment hub for CARs. \u201cWe need to actively engage with CARs and offer them a compelling value proposition for using Gwadar as their preferred trade route,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"WU4ixIpjG2\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/china-proposed-to-shift-industry-in-gwadar-free-zone-russia-cars-to-route-trade-through-karachi-port-says-maritime-minister\/\">China proposed to shift industry in Gwadar Free Zone &#8211; Russia, CARs to Route trade through Karachi Port : Says Maritime Minister<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;China proposed to shift industry in Gwadar Free Zone &#8211; Russia, CARs to Route trade through Karachi Port : Says Maritime Minister&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/china-proposed-to-shift-industry-in-gwadar-free-zone-russia-cars-to-route-trade-through-karachi-port-says-maritime-minister\/embed\/#?secret=Zri4WG6ZlG#?secret=WU4ixIpjG2\" data-secret=\"WU4ixIpjG2\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>To facilitate this, DG National Logistics Corporation (NLC) was tasked with presenting viable options for linking Central Asian trade with Gwadar.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister underscored the importance of robust security arrangements to ensure seamless port operations. He further directed the concerned departments to identify locations for rest areas along the Karachi-Gwadar route and ensure mobile network coverage for improved connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Member Infrastructure, Planning Commission Mr. Waqas Anwer was assigned the task of identifying short-term and long term measures and formulating an action plan for immediate interventions.
