ISLAMABAD: Pakistan\u2019s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, KK Ahsan Wagan, was deported from Los Angeles, USA. According to reports, the ambassador was denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa and all legal travel documents.<\/p>\n
Ahsan Wagan was on vacation, heading to Los Angeles when US immigration authorities stopped him at the airport.<\/p>\n
There was an objection in the US system regarding controversial visa references linked to the Pakistani envoy.<\/p>\n
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch have been informed of the incident.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Pakistani Consulate in Los Angeles to investigate the matter.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Office spokesperson also avoided commenting on the issue.<\/p>\n
A second flight carrying undocumented Pakistani immigrants deported from the United States is set to arrive in Pakistan next week, sources in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said, as Washington enforces stricter immigration policies under President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
The Pakistani Embassy in the US confirmed that eight individuals, including Rehman, Saleem, Nawaz, Salman, Azeem, Khan, and Khalid Masih, will be repatriated aboard a special American aircraft.<\/p>\n
Of the deportees, six are being sent back solely for immigration violations, while two have criminal records.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo individuals on the deportation list were found guilty of serious crimes, including rape and drug-related offences,” an FIA source said.<\/p>\n
The aircraft will land at Noor Khan Airbase in Islamabad, where FIA officials and security personnel will oversee the reception and verification process.<\/p>\n
Separately, authorities confirmed the recent deportation of 56-year-old Syed Rizvi, a Pakistani national who had been residing illegally in Dallas, Texas. Rizvi entered the US in 2017 but was found in violation of immigration laws.<\/p>\n
The FBI arrested him on 31 January, and he was officially deported on 25 February. US authorities provided his photograph and details to Pakistan for record-keeping.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are closely monitoring all deportees to distinguish between those involved in criminal activities and those deported solely due to residency violations,\u201d an FIA official said.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, deportees will be screened for any pending legal cases, questioned about their stay in the US, and assisted in reintegration if they are not involved in criminal activities.<\/p>\n
Eight Pakistan nationals residing illegally in the United States were deported to Pakistan, on 28 Feb 2025, with a diplomat calling it the first such flight since Donald Trump returned to power.<\/p>\n
“We can confirm that eight Pakistani nationals, who were staying illegally in the US, have indeed returned yesterday,” Pakistan’s foreign ministry spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan told a press conference.<\/p>\n
A Pakistani diplomat confirmed that this was the first such flight since Trump’s second term began in January.<\/p>\n
“But (it is) not the first ever as in 2019, several such flights also arrived in Pakistan,” the diplomat said, speaking on condition of anonymity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
