{"id":45261,"date":"2025-04-18T09:53:55","date_gmt":"2025-04-18T09:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/?p=45261"},"modified":"2025-04-18T09:55:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T09:55:01","slug":"hungary-assures-pakistan-support-for-gsp-plus-in-european-union","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/hungary-assures-pakistan-support-for-gsp-plus-in-european-union\/","title":{"rendered":"Hungary Assures Pakistan Support for GSP Plus in European Union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-45268\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Hungary-Pakistan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Hungary-Pakistan.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Hungary-Pakistan-300x195.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><strong>Islamabad \u2013 April 15, 2025: Hungary has reaffirmed its strong support for Pakistan\u2019s GSP Plus (Generalized System of Preferences Plus) status in the European Union, as both countries vowed to deepen economic cooperation at the Pakistan-Hungary Business Forum held in Islamabad.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The forum was co-chaired by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3, who led a 17-member Hungarian business delegation.<\/p>\n<p>Minister P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 described Pakistan as an important economic partner and stressed that Hungary would continue advocating for Pakistan\u2019s preferential trade access to European markets through the GSP+ scheme. \u201cHungary stands with Pakistan on the GSP+ front.<\/p>\n<p>It not only benefits Pakistan\u2019s exports but also strengthens EU-Pakistan relations through sustainable development and inclusive trade,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Hungarian companies working in Pakistan are highly encouraged by the business environment and are keen to expand their operations. \u201cI have brought with me top business leaders from Hungary.<\/p>\n<p>They are meeting with their Pakistani counterparts in B2B sessions today, and we hope to see new partnerships and trade avenues open,\u201d Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 stated.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Pakistan | Hungary | Business Forum | Islamabad | GSP | Support\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DEd1ZI7mCq0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Hungarian minister also shared that Hungary currently offers 400 scholarships annually to Pakistani students, and his government is looking to increase that number. He highlighted vast potential for collaboration in sectors such as energy, agriculture, IT, food security, sports, and advanced manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>He further mentioned that a Hungarian private airline is exploring operations in Pakistan, a sign of increasing connectivity and confidence in Pakistan\u2019s market.<\/p>\n<p>Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan welcomed Hungary\u2019s unwavering support for Pakistan\u2019s GSP+ status and acknowledged Hungary\u2019s technological expertise, especially in seed technology, agriculture feed, and services sector, as areas where Pakistan can greatly benefit.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that Pakistan is emerging as a stable and investor-friendly economy, with inflation coming down, the currency stabilizing, and renewed market confidence. \u201cOur economic reforms are designed to improve ease of doing business, attract foreign investment, and create strong infrastructure to support sustainable growth,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Kamal highlighted government-led initiatives such as the National Tariff Policy, Strategic Trade Policy Framework, Pakistan Single Window, and transit trade agreements with Central Asian countries, all aimed at enhancing regional and global trade integration.<\/p>\n<p>The forum brought together private and public sector representatives from both countries to explore sector-specific synergies.
