Deputy Prime Minister\/Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar posted on X account after the Indian government announced certain steps, following the deaths of 26 tourists in a shooting incident in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
Addressing a press conference, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri of India\u2019s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday made announcements after the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).<\/p>\n
These included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan. Additionally, the Attari border check- post was closed, Pakistanis in India were given 48 hours to leave while diplomatic staff at the high commissions would also be reduced.<\/p>\n
Terrorist Attack in Pakistan<\/strong><\/p>\n Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday strongly condemned a terrorist attack targeting a polio vaccination team in Mastung city of Balochistan.<\/p>\n The prime minister, who is currently on a two-day visit to Turkiye, expressed grief over the martyrdom of the Levies personnel guarding the polio vaccination team, said a statement issued by the PM Office.<\/p>\n He prayed to Allah Almighty for peace for the departed souls and strength for the bereaved families to bear the loss.<\/p>\n “The terrorists causing harm to the lives and properties of innocent citizens will be brought to justice. Such incidents cannot weaken the Government of Pakistan’s resolve to eradicate polio from the country completely,” he reiterated.<\/p>\n Urging the people to get their children vaccinated against polio without losing hope, the prime minister resolved that the anti-polio campaign would continue with full force under all circumstances.<\/p>\n Minister for Defense<\/strong> Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday said that suspending Indus Water Treaty by India violation of International laws. India cannot take unilateral decision regarding Indus Water Treaty, he said while talking to a private television channel.<\/p>\n We will give comprehensive response to India after holding national security meeting being called on Thursday, he said.<\/p>\n In reply to a question about recent attacks on Pahalgam tourist resort, he said, we strongly condemn all type of terrorism anywhere. He said Pakistan has been the big victim of terrorism. To a question about any aggressive step taken by rival country, he said Pakistan armed forces are fully capable to respond to any misadventure.<\/p>\n Minister for Water Resources Mian Moeen Wattoo<\/strong> on Wednesday said India could not take unilateral decision on the Indus Water Treaty, because it has the endorsement of international organizations.<\/p>\n He said the water sharing agreement between the two countries is recognized by the international organizations. The minister said Pakistan would not succumb to external pressure and any aggression from the Indian side would be responded in a befitting manner.<\/p>\n Statement by the Spokesperson<\/strong><\/p>\n Responding to media queries concerning the attack in Anantnag district of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Spokesperson said:<\/p>\n \u201cWe are concerned at the loss of tourists\u2019 lives in an attack in Anantnag district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
