Key changes in Uzbekistan\u2019s trade with countries in the region over the past year are reflected in the infographic prepared by the CERR.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From 2016 to 2024, the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and South Asian countries increased 2.5 times.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Uzbekistan\u2019s total foreign trade volume with South Asian countries reached $2.6 billion. During the same period, Uzbekistan&#8217;s exports to the region grew 2.3 times, while imports rose 2.9 times.<\/p>\n<p>Uzbekistan\u2019s main export items to South Asia included:<br \/>\n\u2981 electricity \u2013 $91 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 petroleum products \u2013 $175 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 transport services \u2013 $200 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 legumes \u2013 $250 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 flour \u2013 $328 million.<br \/>\n\u2981<br \/>\nKey imports from South Asian countries included:<br \/>\n\u2981 pharmaceutical products \u2013 $324 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 machinery and equipment \u2013 $234 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 beef \u2013 $124 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 chemical products \u2013 $86 million,<br \/>\n\u2981 textiles and clothing \u2013 $65 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"99iSF4UsSM\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/uzbekistan-and-pakistan-accelerators-of-interregional-dialogue-to-the-strengthening-of-multi-level-partnerships\/\">Uzbekistan and Pakistan: Accelerators of Interregional Dialogue to the Strengthening of multi-level Partnerships<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Uzbekistan and Pakistan: Accelerators of Interregional Dialogue to the Strengthening of multi-level Partnerships&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/uzbekistan-and-pakistan-accelerators-of-interregional-dialogue-to-the-strengthening-of-multi-level-partnerships\/embed\/#?secret=3jy4drCajU#?secret=99iSF4UsSM\" data-secret=\"99iSF4UsSM\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 2024, Afghanistan accounted for the largest share of Uzbekistan\u2019s trade with South Asia (41.9%), with exports making up the majority, which makes Afghanistan a profitable trade and economic partner, ranking first in terms of trade turnover with Uzbekistan among South Asian countries &#8211; $1.1 billion. Exports of fruits and vegetables to Afghanistan amounted to 67.6 thousand tons worth $124.4 million (3.3% share).<\/p>\n<p>Trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and India has also been actively developing in recent years. India ranked second in terms of Uzbekistan&#8217;s trade with South Asian countries. In 2024, the volume of foreign trade between the two countries amounted to $981 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pakistan ranks third in terms of trade with South Asian countries. In 2024, Uzbekistan\u2019s exports to Pakistan included:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\u00a0food products \u2013 $192.6 million (64.4%),<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0industrial goods \u2013 $57.7 million (19.3%),<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0services \u2013 $41.6 million (14%),<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0textile raw materials \u2013 $4.5 million (1.6%),<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0silk products \u2013 $5 million,<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0chemical products \u2013 $1.8 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"U5KrMDxDlN\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/jizzakh-2025-a-launchpad-for-long-term-international-partnerships-pakistani-business-delegation-participated\/\">\u201cJizzakh \u2013 2025\u201d: A Launchpad for Long-Term International Partnerships &#8211; Pakistani Business Delegation Participated<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;\u201cJizzakh \u2013 2025\u201d: A Launchpad for Long-Term International Partnerships &#8211; Pakistani Business Delegation Participated&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/jizzakh-2025-a-launchpad-for-long-term-international-partnerships-pakistani-business-delegation-participated\/embed\/#?secret=JbjtMXAmPl#?secret=U5KrMDxDlN\" data-secret=\"U5KrMDxDlN\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Imports from Pakistan in 2024 included: chemical products \u2013 $43.6 million, food products \u2013 $30.9 million, textile products \u2013 $5.7 million, articles of non-precious metals \u2013 $5.4 million, machinery and equipment \u2013 $3 million and transport services \u2013 $1.7 million.<\/p>\n<p>The import structure consisted mainly of pharmaceuticals \u2013 33.7%, potatoes \u2013 8.2%, shampoos, soaps, and other hygiene products \u2013 5.7%, textile products \u2013 5.4%, sesame seeds \u2013 2.8%, machinery and equipment \u2013 2.8%, rice \u2013 1.9%, articles of non-precious metals \u2013 5.1%.<\/p>\n<p>The volume of foreign direct investment and loans from South Asian countries to Uzbekistan for 8 years amounted to $703.6 million.
