Islamabad, May 16, 2025 \u2014 On Friday, voting began for the presidential elections among the Romanian diaspora, including at polling station no. 713 in the capital of Pakistan. For the first time, children also \u201cvoted\u201d here.<\/strong><\/div>\n

The youngest members of the Romanian community in Pakistan took part in a unique initiative at the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad, where they participated in a symbolic voting exercise, choosing between two beloved fruits: apples and oranges.<\/div>\n

Romania\u2019s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dan Stoenescu, stated:<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cThe goal of the initiative was twofold: to promote civic spirit from an early age and to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Through this educational activity, children learned what voting means and how important it is to make good choices for our health. Our message is simple: if children can vote, then parents have no excuse to stay on the sidelines when it comes to their family\u2019s democratic future.\u201d<\/div>\n

The event was organized in a friendly and educational setting. Children were taught about the importance of voting and maintaining a balanced diet. With a miniature ballot box, illustrated voting slips featuring fruit, and a cheerful atmosphere, the activity became a memorable moment for the little ones and their families.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The results of the \u201celection\u201d between apples and oranges will be announced on Sunday evening, alongside the presidential election results, bringing smiles and, hopefully, a healthy civic boost to the community.<\/div>\n

The Romanian Embassy in Pakistan reminds Romanian citizens of the importance of participating in elections and encourages an active, democratic, and healthy lifestyle. Civic engagement begins with small gestures \u2014 sometimes even with a ballot featuring an apple and an orange in the hand of a child!<\/div>\n

Prin aceast\u0103 activitate educativ\u0103, copiii au \u00eenv\u0103\u021bat ce \u00eenseamn\u0103 votul, dar \u0219i c\u00e2t de important este s\u0103 facem alegeri bune pentru s\u0103n\u0103tatea noastr\u0103.
