In His speech, the King announced the Kingdom\u2019s decision to reopen its embassy in Damascus, which was closed down in 2012, stressing that this &#8220;will contribute to opening up broader prospects for the historical relations between our countries and our peoples&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the Sovereign reaffirmed Morocco&#8217;s unwavering, historical position on Syria, previously set out in the letter He had sent to President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, standing by and supporting the brotherly Syrian people as they seek to fulfill their aspirations for freedom, security, and stability and to preserve their country&#8217;s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the implementation of the Royal Decision, Bourita announced that a technical delegation will conduct a visit to Syria next week to assess the preparations for the embassy\u2019s reopening, which will serve as a communication and coordination channel in various fields.
