Vietnam and Pakistan enjoy very cordial and close relations, while the bilateral cooperation is increasing at all levels.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This year the National Day of Vietnam has come with a leap forward in mutual ties where high level interactions and visit have been seen in previous few weeks. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The most important contact<\/strong> <\/span>was <span style=\"color: #000000;\">at the 8th Future Investment Initiative (FII) Summit in Saudi Arabia in October 2024, when Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met there and agreed to raise bilateral trade to over 1 billion USD in the coming year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On 11 July 2025, <span style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #008000;\"><strong>Deputy Prime Minister \/ Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar\u00a0 met with Bui Thanh Son DPM\/FM of Vietnam<\/strong><\/span> on the sidelines of the 32nd #ARF in Kuala Lumpur.They discussed bilateral relations, with a focus on boosting trade and investment and enhancing people-to-people ties. DPM\/FM Dar accepted the invitation to visit Vietnam soon, at mutually convenient dates. From being isolated and embargoed, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries and developed strategic and comprehensive partnerships with 38 nations-including all permanent members of the UN Security Council and major powers.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Vietnam is an active member of over 70 regional and international organizations, with deep and substantive political, defense, and security relations.<\/p>\n<p>From a poor, backward economy, Vietnam has become one of the world\u2019s 34 largest economies,with the economic scale increasing nearly 100 times since the pre-Renovation era (before 1986), and per capita income rising from under 100 USD to over 4,300 USD.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in multi-layered international economic cooperation, especially 17 free trade agreements (FTAs), has linked Vietnam with over 60 key economies and integrated the country deeply into global production and supply chains, placing Vietnam among the top 20 countries with the largest trade scale.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Vietnam is also among the top 15 developing countries attracting the most foreign direct investment (FDI), with registered capital of 38.2 billion USD and implemented capital reaching 25.4 billion USD in 2024, up 9.4%-the highest in many years.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>International tourist arrivals reached an estimated 17.6 million, up 39.5% from 2023. The economic structure has shifted positively, with the digital and green economies playing increasingly important roles. All major sectors have grown, with industry recovering robustly as a key driver of growth.<\/p>\n<p>In culture, society, education and training, science and technology, and healthcare,Vietnam has also made remarkable progress, shaping national, cultural, family, and human values. Nearly 99% of Vietnamese adults are literate, the number of university and college students has increased nearly 20 times, and secondary education has been universalized since 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s scientific and technological capacity has been enhanced. Social welfare and policies for ethnic groups, religions, people with meritorious service, and overseas Vietnamese have been implemented synchronously with positive results. Public health is well cared for, with access to advanced medical techniques.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Some updated figures to illustrate Vietnam\u2019s achievements:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 2024,the poverty rate dropped to 1.93%. According to the United Nations, Vietnam\u2019s happiness index in 2024 rose 11 places to 54th out of 143 countries; the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) index ranked 54th out of 166. In education, nearly 99% of adults are literate; secondary education has been universalized since 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In healthcare, the quality of medical examination and treatment has steadily improved, with health insurance coverage reaching 94.1%. Science and technology applications have been strengthened; the startup and innovation ecosystem has been formed and developed.<\/p>\n<p>Human resource quality has improved,with an increasing proportion of employed workers. To achieve this, it is necessary to increase working-level visits, exchange delegations-especially business delegations-organize trade fairs, and move towards opening direct flights to boost trade and tourism.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to economic cooperation, people-to-people relations between the two countries have also left many positive impressions, such as recent exchanges on Buddhist studies, photo exhibitions on Pakistan in Vietnam, and Vietnamese fashion shows in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Recently, the Vietnamese Embassy in Islamabad and the Pakistani Embassy in Hanoi signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly promote bilateral relations in all fields, including enhancing delegation exchanges-especially at high levels-coordinating the implementation of signed agreements.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are launching new cooperation programs, boosting cultural exchanges, translating famous literary and poetic works of both countries, and strengthening media cooperation so that the peoples of both countries can better understand each other, bringing bilateral relations to greater depth, practicality, and effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Vietnam-Pakistan relations are currently on a positive, profound, and effective development trajectory, with close coordination among leaders, business communities, and the peoples of both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides are working towards elevating their relationship and expanding diverse and sustainable cooperation in the future. The economy\u2019s size reached 476.3 billion USD, with a per capita GDP of 4,700 USD, reflecting an increase of 377 USD from 2023.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Bilateral trade has seen encouraging growth, rising from 514 million USD in 2021 to 850 million USD in 2024. Notably, in the first half of 2025, trade volume reached 402 million USD, a 28% increase over the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>There is vast potential given the combined population and market size of approximately 300 million people. Vietnam offers strengths in information technology, textiles, and fisheries, while Pakistan excels in agriculture and raw textiles.
