The meeting discussed in detail the possibilities of rail access to Central Asia. Various railway routes and regional connectivity were considered.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minister Railways welcomed the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan to Pakistan.\u00a0 He said, Regional connectivity will benefit Pakistan Railways and the country&#8217;s economy. Pakistan and Kazakhstan are keenly interested in promoting trade corridors.<\/p>\n<p>Sides emphasized on easy access of Pakistani products to Central Asian markets. Regional connectivity will open new avenues in trade and economic relations.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"lTjheodw5q\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/minister-pakistan-railway-and-ambassador-kazakhstan-discuss-cooperation-new-routes-of-connectivity\/\">Minister Pakistan Railway and Ambassador Kazakhstan Discuss Cooperation &#8211; New Routes of Connectivity<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Minister Pakistan Railway and Ambassador Kazakhstan Discuss Cooperation &#8211; New Routes of Connectivity&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/minister-pakistan-railway-and-ambassador-kazakhstan-discuss-cooperation-new-routes-of-connectivity\/embed\/#?secret=tfhUfunJy6#?secret=lTjheodw5q\" data-secret=\"lTjheodw5q\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Kazakh delegation led by Transport Minister, Nurlan Sauranbayev held talks in Ministry of Maritime Affairs on Tuesday to strengthen cooperation in seaports and regional connectivity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The delegation, received by Federal Secretary Syed Zafar Ali Shah, discussed opportunities for collaboration on Pakistani ports and multimodal transport corridors linking Central Asia with the Arabian Sea through road, rail and sea routes.<\/p>\n<p>Shah underlined the strategic position of Pakistan\u2019s ports, offering access to South Asia, Central Asia, Gulf countries and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>He said Kazakhstan could benefit from container handling, logistics, off-dock terminals, free trade zones and other port facilities under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), noting that Pakistan\u2019s tariffs were regionally competitive.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-52021\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Kazakhstan-Pakistan-Railway.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Kazakhstan-Pakistan-Railway.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Kazakhstan-Pakistan-Railway-300x191.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/>Officials from Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Port Qasim Authority (PQA) highlighted spare capacity to handle Central Asian cargo, while stressing that a dedicated multipurpose terminal at Gwadar was crucial for long-term trade growth. Presentations on business opportunities and incentives at Karachi, Port Qasim and Gwadar were given to the visiting delegation.<\/p>\n<p>KPT Acting Chairman, Rear Admiral Ateeq-ur-Rehman briefed the Kazakh side on port facilities and a planned maritime business district spanning 140 acres of urban land.<\/p>\n<p>PQA Chairman Rear Admiral (Retd) Syed Moazzam Ilyas emphasized Pakistan\u2019s role as an energy hub and proposed cooperation in off-dock terminals linked with rail networks for Central Asian trade.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Secretary, Umer Zaffar Shaikh outlined Gwadar\u2019s potential, including full exemptions on duties and sales tax, its off-dock terminals, and its shortest land-sea route for Central Asian countries via the coastal highway.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kazakh Transport Minister, Sauranbayev expressed strong interest in expanding maritime cooperation and building long-term collaboration with Pakistan.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"xxq28BWUsU\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/pakistan-keenly-looking-forward-to-the-visit-of-president-kazakhstan-pm-shehbaz-for-enhancing-trade-investment-connectivity\/\">Pakistan Keenly Looking Forward to the Visit of President Kazakhstan !
