Islamabad : Federal Minister Planning and Development, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal has said The Government of Pakistan is committed to promoting sustainable development, employment opportunities and socio-economic inclusion through digital transformation, science and technology.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At the International Summit 2025 on Redefining Digital Manufacturing, hosted by Octave Technology Solutions in Islamabad, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the Government\u2019s vision for innovation, technology, and industrial transformation.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
<\/div>\n
He said that our goal is to take Pakistan from a survival economy to an innovation economy and to include Pakistan among the leading countries equipped with technology by 2035.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Federal Minister highlighted several steps taken by the government to make Pakistan technology-enabled;<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
1- Establishment of National Centers of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Quantum Computing, Big Data, Nanotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n
2- Establishment of Quantum Valley Pakistan, modeled after Silicon Valley.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n
3-Increasing investment in research, innovation and digital skills<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n
4-Government priority to achieve research-based growth by promoting collaboration between universities and industry<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the event, several MoUs were signed between industry and universities to strengthen public-private partnerships to connect research and applied industry, which is fundamental to the goals of Industry 4.0 and 5.0.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal reiterated the government’s commitment on this occasion that the government’s priority is to continue working in partnership with industrialists and academics to enhance digital capabilities, develop human resources, and create a sustainable innovation system, so that the process of development can provide equal opportunities for all.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Other federal ministers, including Rana Tanvir Hussain, Minister for Industries and Production, and Khalid Hussain Magsi, Minister for Science and Technology, outlined the government\u2019s vision to modernize industries through emerging technologies, R&D, and digitization. <\/strong><\/p>\n

They welcomed the participation of Chinese and international manufacturers, calling their demonstrations a timely contribution to Pakistan\u2019s industrial revival under CPEC\u2019s second phase.<\/p>\n

On the sidelines, OTS signed collaboration agreements with academia, business forums, and international manufacturers to promote localization of advanced digital manufacturing practices in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The conference brought together policy makers, industry leaders, and academia to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications. A series of MoUs were signed to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
