While other ministers from Pakistan side present were Abdul Aleem Khan, the incharg minister of the host ministry of communication, Mr. Muhammad Junaid Anwar, Minister of Maritime Affairs, and Mr. Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Minister of Railways.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"td_btn td_btn_lg td_shadow_btn\" style=\"color: #ffff00;\">The DPM\/FM shared Pakistan\u2019s commitment to regional connectivity &amp; economic cooperation, thanking the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his vision of linking people, trade &amp; goods to foster shared prosperity across the region &amp; beyond. He underscored the importance of regional connectivity for stability, economic growth and collective progress.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that CPEC is now widely recognized as a catalyst for energy infrastructure development, transport connectivity and enhanced trade across the whole of South Asia and Central Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to key connectivity initiatives, Deputy Prime Minister said that Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan rail framework agreement is a landmark initiative to open new trade avenues. Gwadar Port, equipped with modern transshipment facilities, stands ready to play a central role in regional integration.<\/p>\n<p>The minister projected that Pakistan\u2019s economy could reach one trillion US dollars by 2035, with trade volumes surpassing 250 billion dollars. To support this growth, he said, Pakistan has launched a modern port community system powered by artificial intelligence, while the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) plans to expand its fleet to 30 vessels by mid-2026, contributing up to two percent to GDP.<\/p>\n<p>Junaid Chaudhry termed the revival of the Gaddani ship recycling yard and the establishment of an Integrated Maritime Industrial Complex at Port Qasim as \u201cgame changers\u201d for Pakistan\u2019s maritime future. He invited regional counterparts to visit Pakistani ports to witness ongoing advancements in infrastructure and logistics.<\/p>\n<p>He said\u00a0 brought together experts and policymakers from 26 countries to explore the oceans\u2019 role as engines of growth and sustainability. \u201cOur oceans are not barriers but bridges,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"OzryhD6gtq\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/pakistan-in-the-world-february-2025\/\">Pakistan in the World \u2013 February 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Pakistan in the World \u2013 February 2025&#8221; &#8212; Pakistan In the World\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/pakistan-in-the-world-february-2025\/embed\/#?secret=67UjJswWZY#?secret=OzryhD6gtq\" data-secret=\"OzryhD6gtq\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Reaffirming Pakistan\u2019s commitment to the UN 2030 Agenda, Minister Chaudhry said the Blue Economy strategy aims to connect the Arabian Sea with the Gulf, Central Asia, East Africa, and South Asia, turning the region into a corridor of prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that Pakistan\u2019s 1,046-kilometer coastline and 290,000-square-kilometer Exclusive Economic Zone offer immense potential, with plans to raise the maritime sector\u2019s GDP share from 0.8 to two percent by 2035 through innovation and international collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Outlining a decade-long maritime vision, Junaid Chaudhry said the goal is to build a globally competitive and sustainable maritime industry by 2035 expanding PNSC\u2019s fleet to 80 ships, digitizing ports, and promoting shipbuilding, aquaculture, and coastal tourism. Highlighting Karachi Port as Pakistan\u2019s leading trade facility, Port Qasim as one of the world\u2019s most developed, and Gwadar as an emerging regional hub, he said improved road and rail connectivity will be completed by 2028, with Gwadar projected to lead in cargo throughput by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>He added that port master plans are being updated with international assistance to align with global standards. Gwadar, supported by its new international airport, is set to become a regional gateway for energy, fiber, and IT connectivity, linking sea trade directly with global air routes.<\/p>\n<p>Concluding, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said Pakistan\u2019s maritime journey represents a shift \u201cfrom potential to progress and integration,\u201d reflecting the nation\u2019s resolve to turn its seas into bridges of prosperity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"td_btn td_btn_lg td_shadow_btn\" style=\"color: #ffff00;\">Hanif Abbasi, Minister of Railways highlighted the importance of strengthening multimodal connectivity across road, rail and maritime sectors to ensure sustainable regional integration and economic growth.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p>Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan accompanied Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ishaq Dar on a visit to the RTMC 25 Expo where various transport and infrastructure projects were showcased.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan has made significant investments over the past decade to upgrade its infrastructure and modernize logistics.
