Camera : Raja Ghulam Farid\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad celebrated the National Day in a magnificent manner and also commemorated the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), observed as Father\u2019s Day in Thailand,\u00a0 celebrating the spirit of fatherhood and honouring the inspirational life and timeless contributions of His Majesty. Also\u00a0 the memories of late Queen were cherished who was like mother of the nation.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Mr. &amp; Mrs. Rongvudhi Virabutr invited a large number of friends of Thailand in Pakistan to include them in the special event of their country. Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani was the chief guest while Minister Investments Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh was also present. Parliamentary Secretary for the National Heritage &amp; Culture Division, Farah Naz Akbar also graced the event with her presence.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55962\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/President-e1764937557500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" \/><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>As Pakistan attaches great importance with her relations with Kingdom of Thailand, President Asif Ali Zardari sent a message\u00a0 of solidarity on destruction if southern provinces and congratulated on the National Day. President said ;<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;At this difficult time, I wish to express Pakistan\u2019s deepest sympathy and solidarity with the Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand in the wake of the recent devastating floods in the southern provinces, President said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55954\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/thailand-King-queen-e1764936040656.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"222\" \/><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>President Pakistan said<\/strong>, &#8220;The tragic loss of life and the impact on over one million households is a stark reminder of the urgent need for regional and global cooperation to confront the challenges of climate change, which is affecting South and South East Asia more severely than many other parts of the world. Pakistan, too, is experiencing the increasing consequences of climate change and stands ready to work with Thailand and the wider region to enhance resilience and preparedness.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&#8220;I extend my sincere felicitations to the Government and people of Thailand on their National Day. Pakistan and Thailand have enjoyed a warm friendship for many decades, built on mutual respect and shared interests.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p>President added, Pakistan values its longstanding ties with Thailand and remains committed to deepening cooperation in areas that serve our mutual interests. Our engagement at regional and international fora reflects a shared understanding on many issues.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We appreciate Thailand\u2019s efforts to promote peace, development and regional stability. Pakistan values its constructive role in encouraging dialogue, economic links and people-to-people contact. Pakistan looks forward to working more closely with Thailand to build a future shaped by shared priorities and steady friendship, President Pakistan concluded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the reception, H.E. Rongvudhi Virabutr, in his welcome address, said , Thailand is keen to enhance cooperation and relations in all sectors. Both sides will conclude the Free Trade Agreement at the earliest that will give boost to already present strong ties between two states.<\/p>\n<p>He paid rich tribute to the late King Bhumibol\u2014revered for his 70 years of service, more than 4,000 development projects and his globally admired Sufficiency Economy philosophy. The Ambassador recalled the King\u2019s timeless message that \u201cthe suffering of the people cannot wait,\u201d a principle that continues to guide Thailand\u2019s domestic and foreign policy.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55961\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-04-at-11.00.02-PM-e1764937193617.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"216\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He also commemorated the services of late Queen Mother Sirikit , praising her lifelong dedication to culture, heritage and rural communities. A special exhibition in her honor was also arranged at the venue.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Virabutr highlighted that this year carries special importance as Thailand and Pakistan prepare to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2026. He noted that 2025 had been a year of \u201cintense progress,\u201d marked by deeper cooperation and people-centered initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>A short video presentation showcased various development partnerships and community projects undertaken by the Embassy across Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Ambassador spoke passionately about the Royal Thai Embassy\u2019s collaboration with UN Women to uplift women entrepreneurs in Swabi and Sialkot. Training programs in the beauty sector and regenerative agriculture have helped equip women with practical skills and income-generating opportunities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He particularly acknowledged the contribution of Ms. Jennifer Innes Taylor (\u201cJane\u201d), owner of Udon Organic Farm, whose mentorship has inspired rural women to embrace sustainable farming practices.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55952\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Thailand-Pakistan-Relations-1-e1764935609817.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>H.E Virabutr emphasized Thailand\u2019s strong commitment to concluding the Pakistan\u2013Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) at the earliest. He expressed confidence that bilateral trade currently around USD 1.6 billion could grow significantly once the FTA is finalized.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He also underscored Thailand\u2019s interest in expanding investment in Pakistan\u2019s growing halal industry, an area where Thailand holds global leadership.<\/p>\n<p>As current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad, the Ambassador reaffirmed Thailand\u2019s determination to strengthen<strong> ASEAN\u2013Pakistan<\/strong> cooperation under the theme of \u201cVisibility, Tangibility, and Bringing into Reality.\u201d He noted that ASEAN\u2019s enhanced engagement will help Pakistan advance towards becoming a full dialogue partner in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Concluding his address, Ambassador Virabutr said that the Thailand\u2013Pakistan friendship is defined not only by agreements but by the \u201csmiles we create together.\u201d He reaffirmed Thailand\u2019s commitment to working closely with Pakistan for shared prosperity and development.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-55950\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Thailand-Pakistan-National-Day-e1764935503287.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"231\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani, in his address,<\/strong>\u00a0extended congratulations to the Government and people of Thailand on their National Day, reaffirming Pakistan&#8217;s commitment to promoting mutual cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>Kayani expressed satisfaction with the current level of excellent bilateral relations, stating that the partnership between the two nations is &#8220;founded on the principles of mutual trust, cooperation, and shared objectives for global peace and development.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Minister Kayani stressed the importance of fostering a comprehensive and long-term partnership in various sectors, including trade and investment, education, defense, security, culture, and tourism.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-56036\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Thailand-Day-e1765112910165.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"303\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He lauded the close cooperation between Pakistan and Thailand at multilateral forums, emphasizing its significance, particularly concerning issues such as climate change, food insecurity, economic matters, and regional security affairs.<\/p>\n<p>He concluded by appreciating the services of Ambassador Rongvudhi Virabutr in improving relations between Thailand and Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A large number of foreigners, citizens from different walks of life, parliamentarians, business comunity, media persons attended the event. Thai students majority of who were young girls , studying in universities of Islamabad were also present. Their glowing faces were portraying a shining picture of bilateral relations at people to people level.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>Mother Queen :<\/strong> H.M Sirikit (born Mom Rajawongse Sirikit Kitiyakara, 12 August 1932 \u2013 24 October 2025) was Queen of Thailand from 28 April 1950 to 13 October 2016 as the wife of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The late Queen , H.M Sirikit suffered a stroke in 2012 and subsequently withdrew from public life. She died on 24 October 2025 at the age of 93. She was born on 12 August 1932, at the home of Lord Vongsanuprabhand, her maternal grandfather. She was the eldest daughter and the third child of Prince Nakkhatra Mangkala Kitiyakara, the son of Prince Kitiyakara Voralaksana, and Mom Luang Bua Snidvongs (1909\u20131999).
