ISLAMABAD : President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has presented his vision for developing cooperation within the Central Asia Plus Japan framework. He shared his 10 point strategy in his address\u00a0 at the first summit of the \u201cCentral Asia Plus Japan\u201d dialogue.<\/strong><\/p>\n He appreciated the Prime Minister of Japan\u00a0 Madam Takaichi, for the excellent organization of the Summit and the warm hospitality in the beautiful and vibrant Tokyo.<\/p>\n He emphasized that it was the Land of the Rising Sun that initiated the first Central Asia Plus dialogue more than 20 years ago. Time has shown the strategic necessity and rectitude of this decision. This summit is undoubtedly historic, marking a new phase in our cooperation.<\/p>\n President said , our close trade and cultural ties with Japan date back to the time of the Great Silk Road. Madam Prime Minister, your country’s ancient capital, Nara, where you were born, was one of the most important centres on this route. We are also brought together by our shared traditions, customs, spiritual beliefs, culture and family values.<\/p>\n All of these factors provide a solid foundation for the development of multifaceted cooperation between Central Asia and Japan.<\/p>\n The leader of Uzbekistan said, We greatly value the fact that Japan has been a reliable partner to us throughout the period since the Central Asian countries gained independence. Japan has made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, the modernization of infrastructure, industry and energy, and the strengthening of scientific, educational and human resources.<\/p>\n The Central Asian states are therefore interested in expanding Japan’s active presence in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n On what CARs can offer, the President shared , ” Our region is rich in natural resources and is located at the intersection of major global transport, trade and energy routes. The Central Asian economies are growing at a rate of 5\u20136 per cent, and this momentum is set to continue in the coming years. The rapprochement and integration processes currently underway in the region are creating fertile ground for cooperation with Japan.”<\/p>\n He appreciated Prime Minister of Japan for her firm commitment to developing strategic relations with Central Asia. He expressed confidence that our joint efforts will take us to new heights. As the Japanese proverb goes, \u201cIf you join forces, you can move mountains\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n
