The visit focused on the growing significance of the aerial domain in contemporary and future conflicts and the need to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, longstanding strategic partners. As an independent think tank, CASS continues to engage with national and international academia and practitioners interested in National Security in its wider context.<\/p>\n
President CASS, Air Marshal (Retd.) Javaid Ahmed welcomed the delegation and
\nhighlighted the depth of Pakistan\u2013Saudi Arabia relations, noting that bilateral ties date
\nback to 1947. He recalled that the first formal agreement between the two countries, the
\nFriendship Agreement, was signed in 1951.<\/p>\n
He further outlined Pakistan\u2019s security challenges and explained how, in response, Pakistan has developed its armed forces. He added that the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia has further strengthened and consolidated bilateral relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Following the welcome address, presentations on conclusions from CASS research and
\nsalient features of future Aerospace developments were delivered. The Q&A focused on
\nthe threat analysis of the Middle Eastern theatre and mitigation measures.<\/p>\n
Further discussion also focused on future cooperation modalities between the Staff College and CASS.<\/p>\n
