\"\"Islamabad: 16 March 2026 \u2013 President Asif Ali Zardari has extended warm congratulations to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the people of Kazakhstan on the successful holding of the constitutional referendum.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The President noted that the strong participation of the people and the broad support expressed for the referendum reflect the confidence of the citizens of Kazakhstan in the continued progress and development of their country.<\/p>\n

President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest for the benefit of both countries.<\/p>\n

\"\"He also emphasised that Pakistan greatly values its close and brotherly relations with Kazakhstan, which are rooted in mutual respect, shared aspirations for peace and development, and a tradition of constructive cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Central Referendum Commission has released preliminary results of the Constitutional Referendum.<\/p>\n

Voting counting concluded on March 16 at 08:00 am. According to the Commission, voter turnout reached 73.12%, with 9,127,192 citizens casting their ballots.<\/p>\n

Preliminary data shows that 7,954,667 people supported the adoption of the proposed constitutional amendments, representing 87.15% of voters.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, 898,099 voted against the amendments, and 146,558 ballots were declared invalid.\"\"Regional breakdown of support for constitutional amendments:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the national referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Polling Station Election Commission No. 424, located in Islamabad, facilitated the Kazakh people living in Pakistan to cast their votes.<\/p>\n

Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan residing in Pakistan took part in the voting and expressed their position on this matter of great importance for the future of our country.<\/p>\n

The voting was conducted in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ensuring transparency, openness and accessibility of the electoral process for all participants.<\/p>\n
