A number of sources have reviewed the main electricity generation infrastructures in the occupied territories.

There are five major thermal power plants generating electricity needed by the Zionist regime:

1. Orot Rabin steam power plant with a capacity of 2,590 megawatts is one of the Israeli regime’s biggest thermal power plants located near Hadera. Established in 1982, it is owned by Israel Electric Corporation.

2. Rutenberg steam power plant with a capacity of 2,250 megawatts is located near Ashkelon. Founded in 1990, it is also owned by Israel Electric Corporation.

3. Hagit combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,371 megawatts is located in northern part of the occupied territories near Yokneam. It came on stream in 2002 and is run by Israel Electric Corporation.

4. Eshkol hybrid power plant with a capacity of 912 megawatts is located near Ashdod and has been in service since 1974.

5. Haruvit (Tzafit) power plant with a capacity of 900 megawatts is located near Kiryat Malakhi. It has been running since 2015 and its shares are owned by Dalia Power Energies private company.

The five power plants generate over 50 percent of electricity across the occupied territories in total. The slightest disruption to the activities of those plants will affect the Israeli regime’s power grid. However, it is necessary to assess the technical, economic, and security aspects of any response when dealing with such issues.

Middle East Monitoring Desk Islamabad Five major power plants of the Zionist regime that generate more than half of Israel’s electricity are considered as potential targets in a possible strike by Iran.
