Talking to the Ambassador, the President reaffirmed that Pakistan attaches the highest importance to its fraternal relations with Uzbekistan, underpinned by shared history, culture and mutual trust. He appreciated the positive trajectory of bilateral ties and conveyed his warm greetings to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He emphasised the need to enhance bilateral trade through diversification, improved market access and early operationalisation of trade facilitation mechanisms, while encouraging greater business-to-business linkages and investment in key sectors.<\/div>\n

The President underscored connectivity as central to regional economic integration, reiterating that Pakistan offers the shortest access to warm waters through Gwadar and Karachi ports, and expressed support for the operationalisation of Trans-Afghan Railway Project. He also highlighted the importance of peace and stability in region for achieving shared connectivity and economic objectives.<\/div>\n

The Ambassador thanked the President for the warm reception and reaffirmed Uzbekistan\u2019s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan.<\/div>\n

He expressed Uzbekistan\u2019s keen interest in expanding trade, investment and connectivity cooperation, appreciated Pakistan\u2019s role in promoting regional integration and economic linkages, and conveyed the appreciation of Uzbekistan\u2019s leadership for Pakistan\u2019s vanguard role in promoting peace in the region and the world at large.<\/div>\n

He also recalled the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan for President Asif Ali Zardari to visit Uzbekistan, and the President directed that preparations be finalised for his visit later this year.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ambassador shared on his social media, “Our discussion once again reaffirmed the shared commitment of Uzbekistan and Pakistan to elevate bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level \u2014 enriched with practical projects, investments, and mutual benefits.”<\/div>\n

He said, Special attention was given to the development of trade, expansion of transport and logistics corridors, effective utilization of the potential of the ports of Karachi and Gwadar, as well as advancing the strategic Trans-Afghan Railway project.<\/div>\n
