It has been cherished by the generations of Poles for more than 200 years, always filling them with hope and pride of belonging to a political community dedicated to freedom, self-determination and civic empowerment.”

On his stay in Pakistan, the Ambassador shared , It’s already been four and half year in Pakistan for me and my wife. There have always been unique moments, exceptional encounters and unforeseen experiences in Pakistan. They have transformed our life on a personal and professional level.

H.E said , we live in dramatic times in a rapidly changing international environment is an obvious understatement. Regrettably, many of these changes have filled us with concern and distress.

On Ukraine, the Ambassador noted, “For more than four years now, we have come together at this Embassy – together with our Ukrainian friends, Team Europe, friends from like-minded countries and Pakistan – to commemorate each passing anniversary of the unprovoked and illegal Russian invasion against Ukraine, which destroyed the life of hundreds of thousands of people as well as peace in Europe and beyond.”

Mr. Pisarski said, ” We have also watched in horror the humanitarian catastrophe of the Gaza population. We have mourned the innocent victims of terrorism in Pakistan and throughout the region. And, we have kept reminding ourselves:

that the human sufferings, especially the civil population, in one place should not, could not, make us numb to the sufferings of others; that the landgrab – either through a state action or by illegal settlements are just two incarnations of theft, which is obviously a crime; that there cannot be peace without justice; without self-determination and freedom to choose one’s future in a sovereign homeland; that no ideology should be allowed to hijack any cause, especially the noble ones, to sow terror, death or fear.

On the Middle East , the Ambassador said, “Over the last months, we have witnessed yet another conflict reverberating through the Middle East with global consequences. In this case, Pakistan has stepped in as a mediator, working with the concerned parties to find a solution to the conflict through diplomacy and dialog. “The Islamabad Process” has already contributed to the de-escalation. We sincerely “keep our fingers crossed” for the success of the mediation effort led by Pakistan.

Poland Pakistan Cooperation

Ambassador detailed bilateral cooperation and shared the engagements in this regard during the last few months. We supported joint projects between musicians. (Actually, we planned to have yet another jazz performance this evening. However, due to the unstable political situation in the Middle East, we had to postpone it till the fall).

High altitude climbing in Pakistan has for decades been a Polish specialty, with Wanda Rutkiewicz being the first woman to scale K2 in 1986 as its highlight. I was very happy to promote this legacy through film screenings and exhibitions in collaboration with the great Pakistani climbing community.

We have revived a collaboration between our think tank communities, so our experts can share their expertise and learn from one another.
