He said, 10 May is our Independence day in 1877 and it is the Day of Romanian Monarchy as well. It is close to Europe Day, which is 09 May. Romania is a proud member of the EU and NATO.<\/p>\n<p>The 10th of May has never been celebrated before in Pakistan. For this reason, we wished to inaugurate a new tradition and celebrate together with our Pakistani friends and members of the diplomatic corps in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-63575\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Romania-National-Day-Islamabad-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"208\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Romania-National-Day-Islamabad-5.jpg 600w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Romania-National-Day-Islamabad-5-300x104.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>&#8220;May 10 holds a triple historical significance for Romania and is today celebrated as Romania\u2019s National Independence Day. Historically, it also served as Romania\u2019s National Day (1866\u20131947), marking the arrival of Prince Carol I in Romania (1866), the proclamation of State Independence (1877), and the coronation of Romania\u2019s first King (1881). We celebrate this day just one day after we celebrated Europe Day together with all EU member states, Ambassador detailed.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed solidarity with Ukraine. He said, \u201d We strongly support the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Masood Ahmad Qazi , showcasing his province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, shed light on the history of hospitality of KP. He expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for providing a platform where the real Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been introduced.<\/p>\n<p>He said, we have brought the message of peace, love and graciousness from our province. He said, we are not difficult people to handle. We are friends. The historic site, formerly used by British infantry, remained abandoned for decades until it was taken over, renovated, and transformed by the Pak Army into a 5-star hotel in 2024, combining colonial-era heritage with modern hospitality.<\/p>\n<p>Key Historical &amp; Current Facts:<\/p>\n<p>Built in 1867.Original Purpose: British Army infantry barracks.
