A drone strike has sparked a fire on the perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), raising new concerns over a potential new regional escalation amid a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States.<\/p>\n

\u2060It added the drones \u2060were launched from the \u201cwestern border\u201d, without providing details, and said \u2060investigations were under way to determine the \u2060source of the attack. Last week, Emirati officials accused Iran of launching missiles and drones at the port city of Fujairah. Three Indian nationals were injured, and a fire broke out at an oil facility in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed three armed drones that entered the Kingdom’s airspace from Iraq.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pakistan has strongly condemned the drone attacks against UAE and Saudi Arabia. Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in two statements that Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the brotherly people and Governments of the UAE and Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

“Any deliberate targeting of nuclear facilities constitutes a grave violation of international law, including international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and the fundamental principles of nuclear safety and security enshrined in the Statute and resolutions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the statement reads.<\/p>\n

Pakistan said , Nuclear installations must never be targeted under any circumstances. Such reckless actions carry potentially catastrophic and irreversible consequences for human life, the environment, and regional as well as global peace and security. The inviolability of civilian nuclear infrastructure is a well-established international norm and must be upheld without exception.<\/p>\n

Pakistan calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint, fulfil their obligations under international law and international humanitarian law, and avoid any actions that could further escalate tensions with consequences extending far beyond the region.<\/p>\n

Dialogue and diplomacy, consistent with the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter, remain the only viable path toward lasting peace, stability, and de-escalation in the region.<\/p>\n

\"\"Regarding Saudi Arabia, MOFA Pakistan has said,such attacks constitute a serious violation of Kingdom\u2019s sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and appear to be an attempt to further undermine the regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n

The Government and the people of Pakistan stand in solidarity with the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during this critical time, and reaffirm their full and unwavering support for the Kingdom\u2019s security, peace and prosperity.<\/p>\n

Discussions focused on the fraternal Pakistan\u2013Saudi Arabia relations. DPM\/FM reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s strong commitment to further strengthening cooperation across all areas.<\/p>\n
