\"\"Perm (Russia), 24 May: During meeting with Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed at the Russian-sponsored Eurasian Security Forum, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised \u2018Pakistan\u2019s proactive and positive role in promoting peace between Iran and the United States to end this needless War\u2019.<\/p>\n

Senator Mushahid, who is Co-Chairman of International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), briefed the Russian Foreign Minister on Pakistan\u2019s sustained efforts for Peace Diplomacy which has earned the country the trust, respect and confidence of both protagonists.<\/p>\n

Lavrov referred to \u2018new realities\u2019 in the wake of the Iran War especially noting the significance of the Quartet of Pakistan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.<\/p>\n

\"\"Senator Mushahid Hussain met Lavrov on the sidelines of the Eurasian Security Forum, alongwith colleagues from Korea, Cambodia & Iran, as part of the ICAPP Delegation.<\/p>\n

During his Keynote Address to the Eurasian Security Forum, Senator Mushahid Hussain said \u2018Pakistan is at centrestage of Global Diplomacy enjoying trust, confidence and respect of both protagonists\u2019.<\/p>\n

He lamented the lack of role of established organisations like the UN, EU, OIC, and Arab League. He appreciated the principled positions of China and Russia, adding these countries were the harbingers of a new emerging world order in which Eurasia would be the strategic center of gravity, both in Geoeconomics and Geopolitics.<\/p>\n

Senator Mushahid Hussain, referring to the presence of an Indian Delegation, urged the need for peaceful dialogue and diplomacy to resolve all disputes. He also quoted from the great Poet-Philosopher of the East, Allama Iqbal, who had predicted, nearly a century ago, both the Rise of Asia and Rise of China.<\/p>\n

The Eurasian Security Forum was attended by 200 international delegates from over 20 Eurasian countries. At the conclusion of the Forum, the Russian hosts requested Senator Mushahid Hussain to read out the Final Declaration which called for establishing a new global order based on justice and equality in accordance with principles of the UN Charter and International Law.<\/p>\n
