US President Donald Trump and Iran\u2019s President Masoud Pezeshkian have\u00a0electronically signed a memorandum of understanding to end the US and Israel\u2019s war on Iran. Pakistan says the \u201cIslamabad MoU\u201d has taken effect, and\u00a0US officials say\u00a0it includes Iran not developing or buying a\u00a0nuclear weapon, ending the war on all fronts and the\u00a0reopening\u00a0of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that because the document has been signed digitally, there will be no physical signing ceremony in Switzerland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The text of the Memorandum of Understanding on ending the imposed US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran was signed by the Iranian and American presidents in the first minutes of Thursday, June 18, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement was signed digitally and remotely by President Masoud Pezeshkian and his US counterpart Donald Trump within a short interval, finalizing the memorandum simultaneously without an in-person ceremony.<\/p>\n

Iranian officials had previously stated that although negotiating teams would remain engaged in Switzerland, the signing itself would take place electronically rather than through a formal signing event.<\/p>\n

The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was finalized following weeks of negotiations and was presented by Iranian officials as an initial political framework intended to halt military confrontation and establish a pathway toward a comprehensive final agreement. The document was signed in Persian and English and formally entered into effect after endorsement by the presidents of Iran and the US through a digital process.<\/p>\n

The first article of the memorandum declares the immediate and permanent termination of military operations between Iran, the US, and their allies across all fronts, including Lebanon.<\/p>\n

The text commits both sides to refrain from future military action or threats of force and emphasizes respect for Lebanon\u2019s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Iranian officials described the repeated references to Lebanon in the document as reflecting Tehran\u2019s position that regional security concerns remained inseparable from the broader conflict.<\/p>\n
