Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff &amp; Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and measures to further enhance bilateral defence and security cooperation were discussed. Both sides underscored the importance of deepening military-to-military ties and capacity building initiatives to counter common security challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan\u2019s steadfast support and the professional role played by the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability. The Field Marshal reaffirmed Pakistan&#8217;s commitment to supporting Somalia in strengthening its security apparatus and fostering enduring peace in the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meeting with Air Chief Marshal Pakistan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Minister of Defence, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad on 05 Aug 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Chief of the Air Staff reiterated that Pakistan Air Force remains ready to support the Somali Air Force in its modernization journey by sharing its operational expertise, best practices and training infrastructure. Both sides agreed to build upon this foundation by fostering closer institutional linkages, increasing professional exchanges and translating the existing understanding into tangible collaborative initiatives for the mutual benefit of both countries.<\/p>\n<p>H.E. Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi appreciated the professionalism and operational excellence of Pakistan Air Force and expressed his earnest desire in expanding bilateral defence cooperation. The visiting Minister underscored Somalia&#8217;s resolve to rebuild &amp; modernize its Air Force and expressed keen interest in benefiting from Pakistan Air Force&#8217;s vast professional expertise.<\/p>\n<p>He sought Pakistan Air Force&#8217;s support in the development of institutional frameworks, formulation of operational &amp; training policies, and enhancement of human resource capabilities through comprehensive training programmes for pilots, aircrew and technical personnel.<\/p>\n<p>The visiting delegation also toured the National ISR &amp; Integrated Air Operations Centre at Air Headquarters where they were briefed on Pakistan Air Force&#8217;s integrated command and control architecture, operational employment of advanced ISR capabilities and network-centric operational framework. During the interaction, both leaders deliberated on key matters of mutual professional interest, regional maritime security dynamics, and avenues for bilateral defence collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Admiral Naveed Ashraf reiterated that Pakistan places immense value on its diplomatic and military ties with Somalia, underscoring a strong desire to build a sustainable, long-term, and multi-faceted partnership between the two nations.<\/p>\n<p>The Somali Defence Minister lauded Pakistan Navy\u2019s proactive contributions towards regional maritime security. Both sides reaffirmed their shared resolve to deepen and diversify bilateral defence relations.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in maritime security, enhancing and developing the capabilities of the Somali Navy, expanding training opportunities, and promoting the exchange of expertise. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening the strategic defence partnership between Somalia and Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister was accompanied during the meeting by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Pakistan, H.E.
