More than 12.6 million citizens were registered to vote at more than 10,000 polling stations nationwide and abroad.

The final overseas voting process will conclude at the polling station at Kazakhstan’s Consulate General in San Francisco at 8 a.m. Astana time on Aug. 24. All seats are allocated proportionally through party lists in a single nationwide constituency.

Parties must receive at least 5% of the vote to qualify for seats. A total of 545 candidates representing seven political parties contested the election. Overall, 777 foreign observers from 42 countries and 13 international organizations have been accredited to monitor Kazakhstan’s election.

Pakistan in the World -May/ June 2023

Central Asia Monitoring Desk Islamabad The Adilet party of the incumbent President Kassym Jomart Tokayev has been projected to receive around 72% of the vote in Kazakhstan’s inaugural election to the Kurultai on Aug. 23, according to three exit polls released at midnight on Aug. 24.
