Zahid Lateef Khan were also present at the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Gilani had inaugurated the ISE Tower during his tenure as Prime Minister of Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The Acting President recalled the contribution of late Ihsan-ul-Haq Piracha, who, as Minister of State for Finance in the government of Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, was instrumental in establishing the Islamabad Stock Exchange in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>He also paid tribute to the first Board of Directors for laying the foundations of the trading and settlement infrastructure that served Pakistan for more than two decades.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68132\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Islamabad-Stock-Wall-WEB.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Islamabad-Stock-Wall-WEB.jpg 600w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Islamabad-Stock-Wall-WEB-300x134.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>Speaking at the ceremony, the Acting President said the Founders\u2019 Wall honoured the institutional memory of Pakistan\u2019s capital markets and recognised the foresight of those who worked to broaden capital access, democratise opportunity and bring the northern regions of Pakistan into the country\u2019s financial mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Recalling his own association with the institution, Acting President Gilani said that as Prime Minister he had the privilege of laying the foundation stone of the ISE Towers. He said it had been his conviction that Islamabad should not only be the administrative heart of the country but also a pillar of its economic dynamism.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Gilani said stock exchanges, beyond technical indicators such as trading volumes, index points and market capitalisation, were fundamentally vehicles of trust that could turn individual savings into national wealth and enable businesses to expand, create jobs and build industry without relying solely on bank debt.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Inaugartion of Founders Wall by Acting President Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani At ISE Islamabad 07 09 26\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uFegWDj4BnE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He highlighted three priorities for strengthening the capital market: promoting financial participation through financial literacy programmes, encouraging family-owned businesses and mid-sized enterprises to list on the exchange and maintaining policy stability supported by sound macroeconomic fundamentals and long-term structural reforms.<\/p>\n<p>Acting President Gilani said Parliament remains a committed partner in the country\u2019s economic journey and continues to exercise oversight to refine capital market legislation, enhance regulatory frameworks under the SECP and safeguard investor interests.<\/p>\n<p>He also stressed the importance of ensuring that economic opportunities are shared equitably across all provinces and regions.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Gilani congratulated the leadership of the Pakistan Stock Exchange for taking the initiative to honour the pioneers of the ISE, saying that recognising the pioneers is a mark of a mature and forward-looking institution.<\/p>\n<p>Before beginning his remarks, Mr Gilani extended warm congratulations on Pakistan Air Force Day.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Acting President cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Founders\u2019 Wall and unveiled its plaque.
