{"id":68971,"date":"2026-09-28T19:16:32","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T19:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/?p=68971"},"modified":"2026-09-28T19:18:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T19:18:27","slug":"ahsan-iqbal-calls-for-bankable-projects-and-stronger-pakistan-uzbekistan-connectivity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/ahsan-iqbal-calls-for-bankable-projects-and-stronger-pakistan-uzbekistan-connectivity\/","title":{"rendered":"Ahsan Iqbal Calls for Bankable Projects and Stronger Pakistan-Uzbekistan Connectivity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68973\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Pakistan-Uzbekistan-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Pakistan-Uzbekistan-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Pakistan-Uzbekistan-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/>Ulaanbaatar \/ Mongolia &#8211; Sept28, 2026 : Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, who is in Mongolia to attend the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Programme , held a meeting with a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting focused on regional connectivity, investment and mobilisation of international financing, with particular emphasis on the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway.<\/p>\n<p>Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan and Uzbekistan should move from political understanding to bankable projects and measurable economic outcomes, stressing that the UAP Railway could become a transformative link between Central Asian markets and Pakistan\u2019s ports.<\/p>\n<p>He called for expediting the feasibility study, identifying multilateral and bilateral financing, and developing a clear implementation roadmap. He proposed a Pakistan-Uzbekistan Joint Financing Coordination Mechanism to jointly engage international financial institutions and development partners for priority regional projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said the UAP Railway should be developed as an integrated economic corridor, linking railways, highways, logistics, ports and industrial centres.
