Bahria University International Relation Department hosted the Roundtable Conference \u201cASEAN: Navigating Our Future, Together\u201d, bringing together ASEAN diplomats, academics and students for a meaningful dialogue on regional cooperation, sustainable growth and ASEAN-Pakistan relations.<\/p>\n

The discussion highlighted ASEAN\u2019s role as a model of regional unity, the importance of dialogue and consensus, and opportunities for deeper cooperation in trade, investment, education and people-to-people exchanges.<\/p>\n

The distinguished gathering was graced by Vice Admiral Abid Hameed, HI(M), Rector Bahria University; H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Chief Guest from the Philippines; H.E. Colonel (R) Pengiran Haji Kamal Bashah, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam; H.E. Mr. Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, Ambassador of Indonesia; H.E. Mr. Wunna Han, Ambassador of Myanmar; H.E. Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand; H.E. Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Ambassador of Vietnam; the High Commissioner of Malaysia; and Dr. M. Imran Yousuf, Honorary Consul General of the Philippines in Karachi.<\/p>\n

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session with students and faculty, followed by a group photograph, marking another significant step in Bahria University\u2019s engagement with the ASEAN diplomatic community.<\/p>\n

Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador Thailand delivered a brief remark highlighting ASEAN as a \u2018community of diversity\u2019 in which member states leverage on their diversity to strengthen the community as a whole while maintaining flexiblity, not coercing states into rigid norms and standards, and committing to the principle of non-interference in the affairs of other member states. Such are key strengths that can be applied to Pakistan.<\/p>\n

“Moreover, the ACI also visited the University\u2019s Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) where experts and researchers from various domains of AI work in collaboration to provide smart solutions for a multitude of problems from industries, health to agriculture sectors, Ambassador noted.<\/p>\n
