Pakistan is keen to enhance cooperation with brotherly and neighborly state of the Republic of Tajikistan in all sectors including energy, trade, investments, tourism, water management and climate action. Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Tajikistan.<\/p>\n

This was stated by the Federal Minister Planning,Development, Special Initiatives and Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission Mr. Ahsan Iqbal in his address at the reception on the occasion of 35th anniversary of the Independence of Tajikistan in Islamabad.<\/p>\n

Mr. and Mrs. H.E Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, Ambassador of Tajikistan hosted a grand reception to celebrate the national day at the hotel Moven Pick.\u00a0 Advisor to Prime Minister Pakistan on Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Senator Saleem Mandvi Wala, Senator Talha Mehmood, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Spokesperson of the President of Pakistan Mr. Murtaza Solangi many other incumbent and former parliamentarians, Ambassadors, Officials,<\/p>\n

Businessman community, media persons and civil society representatives were present.
\nMinister in his keynote address, highlighted the historical, cultural and civilizational linkages between the two countries and reiterated the national resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in multiple areas.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy close and cordial relations, supported by shared cultural values, historical connections and mutual interests. The two sides have been working to expand cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, energy, transport and regional connectivity.<\/p>\n

Mr. Ahsan Iqbal noted that the geographical proximity of Pakistan and Tajikistan provides significant opportunities for expanding economic and commercial linkages. He said, greater connectivity between the two countries, could help facilitate trade and promote people-to-people contacts while contributing to regional economic integration.<\/p>\n

Particular emphasis was laid on the potential for expanding cooperation in tourism, with both countries possessing rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes and historical sites capable of attracting visitors from across the region.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Sharifzoda, in his welcome address, shed light on the history of the struggle of his nation under the leadership of the National Leader , President H.E Emomali Rahmon and the journey towards strengthening the statehood and his governmen’s endeavours for the well being of the people.<\/p>\n

\"\"He expressed appreciation for Pakistan\u2019s continued support and warm hospitality towards the people of Tajikistan. He expressed Tajikistan\u2019s desire to further deepen bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation with Pakistan. He reaffirmed the spirit of friendship and brotherhood that characterizes relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Ambassador underscored the importance of enhanced cooperation in the energy sector and regional connectivity, noting that stronger economic linkages would benefit not only Pakistan and Tajikistan but also contribute to wider regional development.<\/p>\n

He emphasizing the significance of State Independence as a major historic achievement of the people of Tajikistan. It was noted that during the period of independence, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, favorable conditions have been created for strengthening national statehood, ensuring peace and national unity, promoting sustainable development, and reviving national historical and cultural values.<\/p>\n

The independence enabled Tajikistan, relying on its national values, rich history and culture, and constructive goals, to strengthen its position in the international arena and make a valuable contribution to advancing important international initiatives.<\/p>\n

\"\"A beautiful cultural performance by the artists from Tajikistan was also part of the reception. The artists won the hearts of Pakistanis by singing Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhay Qadam Qadam Aabaad.<\/p>\n

Renown male female artists, musicians and singers travelled to Islamabad to present the cultural heritage and colors to Pakistanis. Both states have centuries old traditional, cultural ties that are flourishing with the passage of time and by the efforts of the embassies at both capitals.<\/p>\n

One of the important highlights of the event was an ethnographic exhibition of Tajikistan, featuring examples of the country’s material culture and national traditions. The guests had an opportunity to become acquainted with various elements of Tajik national culture and the country’s historical and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

At the same time, a special tourism corner of Tajikistan was arranged as part of the event, showcasing the country’s tourism potential, historical and cultural sites, unique natural landscapes, mountains and other tourism resources.<\/p>\n

With the aim of introducing prominent figures of Tajik history and culture, statues and images of renowned personalities and distinguished sons of the Tajik nation were displayed at the venue. This section provided the guests with an opportunity to learn more about the contribution of prominent Tajik figures to the development of science, literature, culture and civilization in the region.<\/p>\n

\"\"Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, CEO of The Centaurus Group and Advisor \/ National Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Tourism, extended his warm felicitations to the Government and people of Tajikistan and expressed his hope for continued prosperity, friendship and stronger bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

He held valuable conversations between ambassadors, diplomats and distinguished guests on strengthening Pakistan\u2019s international partnerships and advancing the country\u2019s positive image.<\/p>\n

During multiple media interactions, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan highlighted the enduring bonds between Pakistan and Tajikistan and emphasized the significant potential for deeper cooperation in tourism, culture, trade, investment, connectivity and people-to-people exchanges. His engagements further underscored the importance of strengthening Pakistan\u2019s relations with the Central Asian region and creating greater opportunities for bilateral collaboration.<\/p>\n

Special photo corners featuring national symbols and elements of Tajikistan were also prepared for the guests. This initiative enabled the guests to capture memorable moments of their participation in the festive event. An exhibition of photographs dedicated to various themes related to Tajikistan was also held. It presented the country’s nature, historical and cultural heritage, social life and other aspects of Tajikistan through visual materials.<\/p>\n

The celebration reflected the shared historical, cultural and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan, while reaffirming the importance of continued diplomatic engagement and closer cooperation between the two brotherly nations.<\/p>\n

During the reception, commemorative gifts featuring the symbols of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan were presented to the guests.<\/p>\n
