It reaches the border fence area.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">China previously built a road up to its side of the border around 2024 (connecting from Tashqarghan in Xinjiang), but Beijing has not opened the border gate or authorized any official trade or transit.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Wakhjir Pass frontier is heavily fortified with high-security fencing, surveillance cameras, and Chinese border guards.
