{"id":8529,"date":"2020-12-17T10:47:07","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T10:47:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/?p=8529"},"modified":"2020-12-17T10:47:07","modified_gmt":"2020-12-17T10:47:07","slug":"pnc-calls-on-ipu-to-take-same-positions-of-european-parliament-members-to-ban-trade-and-support-to-settlements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/pnc-calls-on-ipu-to-take-same-positions-of-european-parliament-members-to-ban-trade-and-support-to-settlements\/","title":{"rendered":"PNC calls on (IPU) to take same positions of European Parliament members to ban trade and support to settlements"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong><em><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8530\" src=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ipu-pnc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ipu-pnc.jpg 450w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ipu-pnc-300x229.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pakistanintheworld.pk\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ipu-pnc-80x60.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/>Islamabad; 17 Dec 2020-Palestine National Council (PNC) calls on the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), regional and international associations, parliaments and the world\u2019s parliaments to take same positions of members of the European Parliament to ban trade and stop support for illegal Israeli settlements in lands considered occupied under international law.<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>In a statement today, Thursday, PNC welcomed what was stated in a letter signed by 46 members of the European Parliament (Renew Europe group), addressed to the Executive Vice President and Commissioner of the European Union for Trade Valdes Dombrovskis regarding the necessity of prohibiting trade and economic support for illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied territories, and applying the European law and the World Trade Organization (WTO) law to prevent settlements products from entering the markets of the Union, to act unified, and to benefit from the influence of the European Union as a global trading bloc.<\/h3>\n<h3>The positions of the European parliamentarians are a strong message to everyone who violates international law and legalizes Israeli<br \/>\nsettlements in the occupied Palestinian territories and deals with their<br \/>\nproducts, PNC stressed, denouncing -same time- the Israeli occupation<br \/>\nauthorities approval of a plan to establish 8,300 new settlement units<br \/>\naimed at bringing about a total change in the borders and demographic<br \/>\ncomposition of occupied Jerusalem<br \/>\n.<br \/>\nPNC commended what was stated in the message of these members who indicated that if the European Union wants to uphold its values of<br \/>\nrespect for human rights, and above all, respect for international law,<br \/>\nit must prohibit economic support for illegal Israeli settlements and,<br \/>\nas a global trade bloc, use the soft power to establish economic<br \/>\ninfluence and pressure for everyone who flouts and does not abide by<br \/>\ninternational law.<\/h3>\n<h3>The importance of the message of the members of the European Parliament that it is consistent with international law, resolutions of<br \/>\ninternational legitimacy and decisions of human rights councils<br \/>\nregarding entities that deal with Israeli settlements in the occupied<br \/>\nPalestinian territories, PNC confirmed, considering the settlements are<br \/>\nillegal and must be removed, as they constitute a continuous war crime.<\/h3>\n<h3>It is necessity to take all required measures to end the Israeli<br \/>\noccupation in all its manifestations and images, and the ugliest crime<br \/>\nof settlement.<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad; 17 Dec 2020-Palestine National Council (PNC) calls on the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), regional and international associations, parliaments and the world\u2019s parliaments to take same positions of members of the European Parliament to ban trade and stop support for illegal Israeli settlements in lands considered occupied under international law.
