FOREIGN MINISTER MAKHDOOM SHAH MAHMOOD QURESHI AND FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN JEYHUN BAYRAMOV SIGNED AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN ON COOPERATION IN THE AREAS OF PREVENTION, LIMITATION AND MITIGATION OF EMERGENCY CONSEQUENCES AT FOREIGN OFFICE, ISLAMABAD ON JANUARY 14, 2021.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Islamabad; 14 Jan 2021 -Pakistan and Azerbaijan have\u00a0signed an MoU of cooperation in the field of natural emergencies\/disasters. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to remain in close contact and maintain high-level exchanges to further deepen and strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields. Delegation level dialogue held at foreign ministry Islamabad concluded with a common determination of taking the already present cordial political relations to new heights of economic, trade, defence cooperation etc.The two sides reaffirmed the resolve to upgrade cooperation in the energy, connectivity, education and cultural arenas as well.<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Azerbaijan\u2019s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov<\/strong> called on Prime Minister Imran Khan, today. During the meeting, views were exchanged on matters relating to bilateral relations and regional and international issues. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction at the excellent quality of bilateral political relations and emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and energy cooperation.<\/h3>\n

The Prime Minister<\/strong> extended sincere felicitations on Azerbaijan\u2019s recent success in liberation of its occupied territories. On Azerbaijan\u2019s call for support in reconstruction and development of liberated territories, the Prime Minister assured of all possible assistance from Pakistan. Foreign Minister Bayramov conveyed cordial greetings of President Ilhan Aliyev<\/strong> to Prime Minister Imran Khan. He also expressed gratitude for Pakistan\u2019s support on Nagorno-Karabakh<\/strong> conflict and reaffirmed Azerbaijan\u2019s consistent support and solidarity on the Jammu & Kashmir dispute. The Azerbaijan Foreign Minister also affirmed Azerbaijan\u2019s desire to upgrade bilateral cooperation in all fields.<\/h3>\n

President Arif Alvi<\/strong> congratulated Azerbaijan over the “liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the country’s territorial integrity.<\/h3>\n

He made the remarks in a meeting with Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov<\/strong>. During the meeting, Bayramov thanked Pakistan for its support in the conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He added that Azerbaijan would stand by Pakistan on the Kashmir issue on all international forums.<\/h3>\n

President Alvi and FM Bayramov also talked about the need to expand bilateral trade and strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.<\/h3>\n

Foreign Minister Qureshi<\/strong> received Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his delegation at the Foreign Office, today. The two sides reviewed the entire gamut of Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues. Foreign Minister Qureshi underlined the exceptional quality of Pakistan-Azerbaijan political ties and underscored the importance of building a stronger economic relationship.<\/h3>\n

The two sides reaffirmed the resolve to comprehensively upgrade cooperation in the political, security, trade and economic, energy, connectivity, education and cultural arenas. Foreign Minister Qureshi congratulated his counterpart on Azerbaijan\u2019s historic victory in the recent conflict on Nagorno-Karabakh<\/strong> and expressed support for rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in the newly liberated territories.<\/h3>\n

Both sides reviewed with satisfaction the level of cooperation in the international fora, especially at the United Nations, OIC, ECO and NAM<\/strong>, and reiterated the determination to continue mutual collaboration and support on their respective core issues in the global and regional forums.<\/h3>\n

Expressing satisfaction at the successful conclusion of 2nd Trilateral Meeting of Pakistan-Turkey and Azerbaijan<\/strong> held in Islamabad on 13 January 2021, it was underlined that trilateral cooperation may be enhanced through specific projects. At the conclusion of delegation-level talks, the two Foreign Ministers signed an MoU of cooperation in the field of natural emergencies\/disasters. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to remain in close contact and maintain high-level exchanges to further deepen and strengthen bilateral cooperation in all fields.<\/h3>\n
