    In a major development , in sensitive South Caucasian region, Armenia has recognized Statehood of Palestine. Earlier Spain, Slovenia, Ireland and Norway in the North and South of Europe had announced their decisions in the support of Two States Solution to the astonishment rather embarrassment of Israel and her patronizers.
    Israel has summoned the Ambassador of Armenia for reprimand in its total disappointment. The total number of UN member countries recognizing Palestine as a State surged to handsome 145.
    Here it is worth mentioning that Armenia is a country where EU and Russian Federation , both warring parties have common interests and that is why both support Armenia in her disputes with neighboring countries especially Azerbaijan.
    This factor leads to another possibility , that Armenia has taken France, Greece, Cyprus in EU and Russia, may be Iran also into confidence to issue the statement regarding Palestine. Also important to note is Armenia has close relations with Iran also.
    Iran has proved her to be the strongest supporters of Palestinian cause by hitting Israel with Missiles couple of months ago. It is interesting as well as complicated picture where the staunch rivals otherwise, are taking the same decisions in favor of Palestine and in opposition of Israel.
    The Armenian foreign ministry said in a statement, “Yerevan supports a two-state solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians and is “genuinely committed to establishing peace and stability in the Middle East and lasting reconciliation.”

    Armenian Statement further reads;

    “The Republic of Armenia categorically rejects the targeting of civilian infrastructure, violence against the civilian population and the hostage-taking of civilians during armed conflict,”

    The Palestinian Authority has welcomed the move. A statement released from the Presidency at Ramallah reads as “This recognition contributes positively to preserving the two-state solution, which faces systematic challenges, and promotes security, peace and stability for all parties involved.”
    Israel is translating the Armenian statement as , Armenia has not clarified who , either Israel or Hamas has taken hostage of civilians.
    According to Times of Israel,the Armenian government counts  approximately 10 thousand Armenians living in Israel while Jew community is found in Armenia as well.
    The Times of Israel writes ;
    “Israel is host to an ancient Armenian community that dates back to the 4th century, as well as a modern community founded by genocide survivors who came in 1915. There is also a small Armenian community in the West Bank.The largest concentration of Armenians in Israel is in Jerusalem, whose Old City hosts an Armenian Quarter, and which has been the site of an Armenian Christian patriarch since the 7th century. There is also an ancient but tiny Jewish community in Armenia, including one functioning synagogue that draws about a hundred worshipers on major holidays.”
